𝐋𝐈𝐓𝐄𝐑𝐀𝐑𝐘 | 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙪𝙧𝙜𝙚 𝙩𝙤 𝙖𝙡𝙬𝙖𝙮𝙨 𝙡𝙤𝙤𝙠 𝙗𝙖𝙘𝙠
Maybe having someone to peel Oranges for you is a gesture straight out of a Romance novel—the intention of having your hands sticky and dirty just for the comfort of another person, with no fear of having the sour liquid touching and stinging your eyes, because there's no reason to touch them, for your eyes are already held by someone you loved.
But love isn't only built on romance.
“Who will clean up the mess for you afterwards?”
“Who shall pick up the useless pieces left on the floor to rot, do we rot with them?”
The power of never looking back is the hardest to master—it's in our nature to ALWAYS look back. To check if there's still a lingering chance for something you clung to, to still have meaning.
Even Orpheus' love couldn't fight the urge to check if Eurydice is the one he's holding. Because we humans were made to always look back.
Even if we move to a brand new city—Purge our skin of a new life—we still keep some of the parts of the old one; No matter how much we hate them.
We pace the streets like how we did before.
We pick up vocabulary from every person that came before—stinging us every time we say a phrase, and We look for the things we love, hoping they still exist even if it is in a different person or place.
And maybe it's a bittersweet feeling, to know that we never really forget.
𝙔𝙚𝙨. 𝘽𝙞𝙩𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙨𝙬𝙚𝙚𝙩.
The bitter end being those memories engraved into your brain, while the sweet taste is having the opportunity to make new ones.
𝘽𝙚𝙘𝙖𝙪𝙨𝙚 𝙬𝙚 𝙘𝙖𝙣 𝙡𝙤𝙤𝙠 𝙗𝙖𝙘𝙠 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙨𝙩𝙞𝙡𝙡 𝙢𝙤𝙫𝙚 𝙛𝙤𝙧𝙬𝙖𝙧𝙙.
