WEDDING RECEPTION DILEMMAS: FACT or BLUFF??

Tagalized para mas intense at may damdamin with the rising and falling intonation ala Maria Elena 😁 Here goes in 3-2-1 boom!

1. GUESTS: Magpapaalam at sasabihing "malayo pa kami eh".. Yun naman pala malayo pa po kayo so bakit hindi nyo nalang lubusin at ganun rin naman at uuwi kayo, anu ba naman yung remaining 40mins-1hr program na laang.. "traffic pauwi" so yun nga po ulit, bakit dipa palipasin ang rush hour at mag-merry-making with the couple instead, in that way, late night na wala ng traffic nun, happy pa ang couple with your presence 😊 andun na kayo, might as well enjoy the moment, hindi naman kayo araw-araw umaattend ng wedding, diba? A lot of my hosted weddings, where elders stayed, not just because of the "Panunumpa" or enticing prizes but katwiran, "apo ko yan", "minsan lang ikakasal", "this is our reunion na", . Mostly naman, yung mga nagmamadali umalis is either malayong kamag-anak (by blood I mean), not so close friends kasi sinama lang ni ganito't ni ganyan pati driver na not relative sinama sa table with a 1,300k worth per head na meal & seat 😁 haruuu sakit sa puso OR uunahin pa pumasyal kaya nagmamadali umalis, for short, no love for the couple yan, just eat-and-run, kukuha pa souvenirs, magrereact pa pag nasabihan na limited lang po or 1 per family lang po..aalis nang naka-simangot, wow bad vibes yan no no no!

2. PARKING: Aalis ng maaga tapos andaming lalapit sa host/emcee "Ma'am pa-announce naman ng mga plate no. kasi aalis yung naka-park sa harap nila, thank you" while the host/emcee is in the middle of a tradition or segment tapos biglang mag-a-announce ng ganun? As a host, much as possible, with all due respect with the couple as well, if it's not emergency, ayokong mag-announce ng paulit ulit, hindi po ako customer service or concierge or lost & found booth ng mga nawawalang drivers/owners. What if the owner I am calling is a guest who's enjoying pa the program and then papatayuin natin just to move his/her car sa parking, mawawala na yung momentum ng happiness nya with the program.. And, not only one car ang pinapatawag sis, isang bultohan like 3-4 cars..wala sa program ko yun siss. Oh so eto na, when driver or owner cannot be found, ending, natapos din nung nagmamadali ang program, ONLY, nasa parking lot sya kakahintay, eh di sana bumalik na lang sila at inenjoy ang program till the end, dibaaa? (kamot ulo)

3. SDE SHOWING: Nag-p-play ang SDE photo at video, nag-announce ang Host prior playing na walang lalapit at magpapaalam sa couple to let them enjoy the videos. Despite the reminders, may nagpapaalam pa rin, at mistulang, dahil madilim at akala nilang hindi sila mapapansin na gumagapang or naka-yukong lalapit sa couple kahit nakaharang na mga coords, they still took advantage of it, nagpaalam, sumelfie sabay ba-bye. Very wrong po 😢 Isama na po natin yung naglalakad sa gitna na parang dedma sa earth na hello, we are watching excuse me, ayun, dumaan para lang dumekwat ng cupcake sa cake table, bumalik pa kasi nakalimutang ikuha yung mga ka-table nya.. Aguyyy!

Gladly, these doesn't happen often on the weddings I've hosted but these are also real collective experiences from my seven (7) years of hosting. Sadyang, hindi nawawala ang mga ganitong scenario but we may minimize or better eliminate this culture by having a fun-filled lively and guest-engaging program, great food, wonderful venue ambiance (not too hot not too cold venue), inviting only close families, relatives and friends (hindi nasusukat ang bongga ng wedding sa dami ng guests kung half of it naman hindi kilala ng couple) and also, getting legit suppliers to ensure quality service resulting to a successful event. Bottom line, LOVE & RESPECT for the effort made by the couple just to have you celebrate the momentous event with them. If we have that, then the world could be a better place. And I, thank you 😁🌍🙏✌️
