NEWS - Fruit and vegetable breeding company Rijk Zwaan generated a total net sales of €627 million in the 2023/2024 financial year.

Highlights from 2023/2024
The net sales increased by 6% to €627 million; this increase occurred in almost all active regions and across all crops. The company’s global market share is approximately 10%.
The fruit and vegetable breeding company invested €143 million in new seed processing facilities as well as in research and product development.

EVENT - Grand Opening of Research and Development Center in Lam D**g, Vietnam ON 18 - 19 September

After nearly 15 years of accompanying Vietnamese agriculture and officially establishing a subsidiary since 2017, Rijk Zwaan continues to affirm its long-term investment commitment with the opening of a new Research and Development Center in Lam D**g - a key agricultural area. The facility promises to accelerate the development of vegetable and fruit varieties to meet the specific needs of the Southeast Asian market. The opening event took place in the joyful atmosphere of the 100th anniversary of Rijk Zwaan.

VARIETY - Sagami RZ is our newest introduction in the Silver Coral concept. A Japanese-look variety with thick netting and green flesh, very high Brix (easily 15-17) and a unique flavour. Unlike traditional Japanese varieties which are often consumed when the flesh is slightly watery, Sagami RZ has a surprising crunch in the flesh. Sagami RZ is vigorous whether in soil or hydroponics. Fruit size is usually smaller in hydroponics (1.3-1.5kg) but it is able to yield larger fruits (up to 2-2.5kg) when given more root space, such as in soil or using a larger polybag.
