What are we actually eating?
In a Muslim country, we assume everything on the shelf is halal. But modern products are complex. Stabilizers, emulsifiers, pharmaceutical excipients. Peer-reviewed research documents porcine DNA in many of pharmaceutical capsules available globally. Not in food. In medicine.
That is why we say, a label is a claim. A laboratory result is proof. These are not the synonymous. For the "Halal" label to be meaningful, it needs to come from an accredited Halal Certification Body. It needs to be traceable, and verifiable with ISO 12025 accredited laboratory testing.
At the Halal Summit 2026 in Lahore, our CEO Hamed K. Lateef made that case to Pakistan's top regulatory leadership. The response in that room gave us confidence that the right people are taking this seriously.
Sincere appreciation to Ms. Salma Butt, Dr. Kiran Khurshid, Dr. Ainy Zehra, Mr. Mansoor Ahmad, Dr. Sayeda Zia Batool, Engr. Imran, and to PAFDA, PCSIR, and PAMCO.
The future of Made in Pakistan is verified.
Fashion's biggest problem isn't that it pollutes.
It's that most of the damage is invisible; until someone measures it.
A garment looks clean on the shelf. Behind it:
โ 2โ8% of global greenhouse gas emissions come from the fashion industry.
โ Around 20% of the world's industrial wastewater pollution is linked to fashion.
โ Polyester is now 59% of all fibre produced; and 88% of it is fossil-based.
โ Roughly 211,000 tonnes of microplastic fibres reach the ocean every year.
โ And less than 1% of the material used to make clothing is recycled into new clothing.
None of it is visible to the eye.
All of it is visible to a test method.
That's the real shift. Buyers and regulators aren't asking "Does it look responsible?" anymore.
They're asking, "Can you measure it; carbon, chemistry, water, fibre, traceability; and prove it?"
Because a claim you can't measure isn't a strategy. It's a risk waiting to be found.
At Tti Testing Laboratories, this is the work: turning the invisible footprint of a product into measured, defensible evidence.
You can't manage what you can't measure. And you can't sell, for much longer; what you can't prove.

Two different jobs people constantly confuse:
Testing answers what is in it; chemicals, pH, COD, restricted substances, carbon. Measured in the lab, in numbers.
Inspection answers what is happening; process, working conditions, documentation. Verified at the source.
A clean lab result can't confirm factory conditions. A good audit can't confirm what's leaving the pipe. You need both, connected.
That's how we're built:
โ ISO/IEC 17025 accredited testing + ISO/IEC 17020 accredited inspection
โ ZDHC MRSL v3.1 Level 1 confirmed, with an approved wastewater lab
โ A dedicated GHG / ESG facility (2025)
โ A Sustainability Center covering ESG, LCA, carbon and SBTi
โ Reporting aligned with GRI, CSRD and CSDDD
Because a claim that can't survive testing and inspection isn't a claim. It's a risk waiting for a buyer to find.

The moment your hands get cold, your body has already made a decision; it pulls blood from your fingers to protect your core. Grip weakens. Dexterity drops. Accidents start.
That's why "warm" is not a specification.
EN 511 turns cold protection into evidence. Three tests, three numbers:
A โ convective cold ยท B โ contact cold ยท C โ water pe*******on
A glove marked 2-3-1 isn't a claim. It's a rating you can match to the actual job โ down to -50ยฐC.
One detail buyers miss: a wet glove loses its insulation fast. That "C" digit isn't a footnote โ it's the difference between protection and heat loss.
So don't buy thicker. Buy rated.
Tti Testing Laboratories provides the solution.

A new identity is coming to every textile sold in the EU.
Not a hangtag.
Not a marketing badge.
A verifiable digital record โ attached to each product, updated across the value chain, and readable by anyone from a buyer to a customs officer.
That is the Digital Product Passport (DPP).
The regulatory timeline is now clear:
โ ESPR entered into force on 18 July 2024.
โ The ESPR Working Plan 2025โ2030 (adopted April 2025) confirmed textiles as the top-priority product category.
โ The EU Central DPP Registry is expected online by 19 July 2026.
โ The textile delegated act is expected around 2027.
โ Compliance for textile products placed on the EU market falls in the 2027โ2028 window.
That is under 24 months from where most brands sit today.
What a Textile DPP will contain (per the Commission's preparatory work):
Fibre composition (with percentages)
Country of manufacture โ per production stage
Carbon footprint (COโe)
REACH hazardous substances used in production
Recycled content percentage
Water consumption in production
Repairability information โ including spare parts availability
End-of-life and recyclability instructions
The direction is unmistakable:
The EU is moving from voluntary sustainability claims to mandatory, verifiable, product-level data.
For textile exporters, including those in South Asia and beyond, this is not another audit.
It is a shift in how the EU market decides who is allowed to sell into it.
Brands and suppliers that already treat product-level evidence as an operational discipline will find compliance manageable.
Brands relying on self-declared claims and disconnected certificates will find the next 24 months uncomfortable.
The buyer of 2028 will not ask, "Do you have a sustainability report?"
They will ask, "Where is the product-level data, and can I scan it?"
At Tti Testing Laboratories, we help brands and exporters generate the kind of product-level, defensible data that a DPP will require; testing, chemical evidence, environmental parameters, and traceable results that hold up under regulatory scrutiny.
Because in the new evidence economy, a product's identity is only as strong as the data it carries.

Textile dyeing and treatment are estimated to cause around 20% of industrial water pollution.
That is why buyers are asking more questions about water.
Not for longer files.
For clearer proof.
A product tag can say โsustainableโ.
A supplier profile can say โresponsibleโ.
But wastewater testing shows what really happened during production.
pH. COD. BOD. Solids. Colour. Metals. Nitrogen. Phosphorus.
These are not marketing claims.
They are measured evidence.
ZDHC Wastewater Guidelines give the industry a common way to review wastewater and sludge through harmonised parameters, limit values and test methods.
At Tti Testing Laboratories, we help turn environmental claims into results buyers can actually review.
Because if the water tells a different story, the claim will not survive.

A product can look clean, smell normal and move through production without raising concern.
But the risks that matter most are often the ones no buyer can see at the surface.
Microbiological testing turns that uncertainty into evidence.
It helps identify whether a product, surface, raw material or production environment meets the level of safety expected before it reaches the buyer, the shelf or the consumer.
That is why testing is not just a final checkpoint.
It is part of the confidence system behind responsible supply chains.
At Tti Testing Laboratories, our role is to help exporters and brands move from assumption to evidence โ through controlled testing, documented results and reliable quality support.
Because in global trade, confidence is not built by saying a product is safe.
It is built by proving it.
