In her Berlin home, artist and designer Yağmur Rüzgar pairs the Close to Heart Chair with a vintage table, bringing together different design expressions in an unexpected way. Having studied at the Bauhaus with her partner, Ozan, Yağmur has a particular appreciation for tubular steel. In the Close to Heart Chair, she finds a familiar material reinterpreted through a playful heart-shaped form.

“You might expect a vintage chair to work best with a vintage table, but I was surprised by how naturally Close to Heart fit. The contrast between them works so well that the pairing never feels predictable. I really like the rhythm they create together.”

For Yağmur Rüzgar, some designs live in our minds long before they find their place in our homes, like the Connect Soft Modular Sofa. Our latest Sofa Story takes us inside the Berlin apartment of the artist and designer who runs with her partner, Ozan.

Originally designed for a gallerist, their open-plan home is defined by columns and doorways rather than traditional walls, creating a space that feels both intimate and gallery-like. Here, the Connect Soft Modular Sofa, upholstered in soft grey-beige Acca 121 by Kvadrat, forms a generous corner in what they call the gathering space. Its soft expression brings warmth and character to the architectural surroundings, offering a place to unwind in a home where living and working come together.

For Sia Hurtigkarl, Verso Rug is an exercise in balance. Warp and weft are equally weighted, while solid and mixed colors meet within the same straightforward construction.

Made entirely from wool, its material and technique were considered together from the outset. Developed in dialogue with Muuto, Verso comes in Cool Grey/Dark Brown and Pale Green/Warm Brown.

In conversation with Milan-based about Coltre Modular Sofa, their new design for Muuto. Taking its name from the Italian word for blanket, Coltre began with an idea of comfort — generous, puffed volumes resting on a structured frame, and the familiar feeling of being wrapped in something soft.

Designed as a family of modules that can move, turn and come together in different ways, Coltre considers comfort not only as something physical, but something we see, feel and share.
