A Shared Language of Craft

Spotted under the sun in Marrakech, this rustic bench brought to mind the Lee settee by Flexform — a piece where design meets memory.

With its hand-crafted solid wood frame and woven paper rush cord, Lee pays tribute to timeless traditions, reimagined for today.

Antonio Citterio imagined Groundpiece (2001) as more than seating:

A place to eat, work, read, and live.
Inspired by Donald Judd’s sculptural minimalism, he designed it low, deep, and grounded—freed from walls and conventions.

Flexform brought it to life through sketches and savoir-faire in Meda, Italy—no technical drawings, just dialogue between designer and maker.

via Studio216, we draw inspiration not only from the modernity of Groundpiece but from timeless ideas like this 1930s Art Deco interior—where form and function merge. Integrated living is not new—it is simply reimagined.

The Susanne swivel armchair—by Roberto Lazzeroni for FLEXFORM—launched quietly during the 2022 Covid period. With 1950s curves, classic feet, and a limited run, it is now discontinued and destined to be a cult classic.
