💚 When your child says, “Mummy, I’m scared.” 🥺
As parents, our first instinct might be to say, “Don’t be scared lah!” or “Be brave!”
Not because we don’t care, but because we want our little ones to feel safe and strong. ❤️
But sometimes, before encouraging our children to be brave, what they need most is to know that their feelings are understood.
🌱 Try saying these simple words instead:
💚 “It’s okay to feel scared.”
💚 “Mummy is here with you.”
💚 “You don’t have to face it alone.”
💚 “Let’s work through this together.”
When we acknowledge our children’s feelings, we help them learn that it’s okay to feel afraid, ask for help, and express their emotions.
Being brave doesn’t mean never feeling scared. It means knowing you’re not alone, even when you are. 🫶
Every little moment of understanding helps build a stronger emotional connection with our children.
