Words from the Forest" (森のことば) is a furniture series by the Japanese brand Hida Sangyo, known for using wood with prominent knots and unique grain patterns, such as oak and walnut, to create visually expressive and individual pieces. Launched in 2001, the series, designed by Toshimitsu Sasaki, was a pioneering effort to celebrate and utilize the natural characteristics of trees, including their knots, in furniture design. The collection includes various furniture items like benches, chairs, tables, and sofas, aiming to promote a closer connection to nature and sustainable resource use.

Key Features of the "Words from the Forest" Series

The Crescent Chair, released in 1995, also known as "the chair you don't want to get up from," is renowned for its exceptional seating comfort, and is now available in upholstered back and seat types.
