Happy holidays from all of us at The Joint Branch of RINA & IMarEST (Singapore)!
19/12/2023
The Singapore Joint Branch of RINA & IMarEST held its Annual General Meeting (AGM) on 15th December 2023 at the Singapore Polytechnic Graduates’ Guild, where our Chairman Mike Watt delivered the 2023 annual report to members. Notable highlights include coverage of the Joint Branch’s activities (technical talks, networking events and the 2023 annual dinner), substantial growth of its social media following and increased student member participation.
Additionally, our IMarEST President Elect (and incoming 2024 President) Yves De Leeneer cited efforts to bolster membership engagement and visibility across the globe. To foster diversity, Sridev Mookerjea also presented the expanded eligibility of the Lifetime Achievement Award to include marine engineers, scientists, technologists and naval architects.
Finally, this AGM welcomed new committee members, eager to contribute actively to our cause and deliver exciting content. For the first time, we unveiled our plan to co-opt student members as part of organic growth within the Youth Committee. Participating members at the AGM further offered the new committee fantastic ideas to shape a shared vision of an active and successful local branch.
We would like to express our deepest gratitude to all volunteers, past and present, who have contributed their time to the success of this committee! There is much to look forward to in 2024 and we eagerly anticipate your involvement!
