Join us for Crafted With Purpose, a special weekend collaboration between Journey East and FIN Crafted Goods Co. that honours the soulful artistry of makers, menders, and the magic of the handmade.

Started as dedicated menders and makers, FIN is a design studio focused on extending the lifespan of textiles. Their philosophy centers on seeing value and beauty in blemishes, and understanding how to honour items that are already here. Driven by purpose and community, they create thoughtful, handcrafted solutions designed to help us tread softly in a fast-paced world, fundamentally changing the way we consume.

For this pop-up, FIN brings that exact ethos to our showroom floor. Expect an exclusive capsule of rebuilt vintage workwear jackets, alongside a curated selection of their signature one-off patchwork cushion covers and table runners.

Take your time browsing the collection while savouring artisan bakes and refreshing beverages by Kraackhaus. Bring a friend who loves design with a history, and let's celebrate the one-of-a-kind and the beautifully imperfect.

There is a massive difference between buying art to fill an empty wall, and collecting pieces you actually want to live with.

In our latest Journal feature, we sit down with Chingyi Chua and Milon Goh, the insightful duo behind Art Again. We discuss what it actually means to live with art, trusting your creative instinct over "investment" trends, and the intricate dynamic between a life model and an artist.

To bring this conversation into the physical space, we are partnering with Art Again and Weekend Culture for the next edition of our ๐‡๐š๐ง๐๐ฌ ๐Ž๐ง! series.

Set right on the showroom floor among our vintage collections, this guided life drawing session is presented as part of Weekend Cultureโ€™s May Editionโ€”a festival celebrating creative labour and the people behind the craft.

Read the interview, then come draw with us.

Veteran life model Lim Kim Hian on the art of keeping still 16/05/2026

We're honoured to have art industry veteran Mr. Lim Kim Hian guide our Life Drawing session next Saturday (23 May) at Journey East, in collaboration with Art Again and Weekend Culture. Limited seats remaining!

Veteran life model Lim Kim Hian on the art of keeping still 63-year-old Lim Kim Hian has spent decades perfecting the craft of live modelling, overcoming pain and stigma to become a familiar figure in art studios across Singapore. He shares how he first got into the craft and how he has developed his own style and poses over the years.

Next Saturday, we gather to slow down, look closely, and honour the invisible labour that gives shape to the things we love. โ

A well-made piece of vintage furniture carries the memory of its makerโ€™s hands. The human form, held in a pose, carries that same weight of discipline, endurance, and craft. Inside our showroom, art industry veteran Mr. Lim Kim Hian will guide us through two halves of seeing: the outer world of perspective and space, and the inner world of anatomy and state of mind.โ

The illusion of speed in solid teak.

In the 1920s, the "Machine Age" dictated a new aesthetic obsession with progress and forward motion. Art Deco designers began applying the aerodynamic curves of rapid transit to static objects, changing the shape of the modern home.

Today, modern designer brands charge a premium for mass-produced engineered wood. This original 1920s sideboard rejects the disposable nature of modern manufacturing for an unwavering statement piece:

Aged Solid Teak: Handcrafted from mature timber, carrying the weight of a century-old antique.

Machine Age Aerodynamics: Sweeping waterfall curves and a radiused alcove designed to remove "visual drag" from the silhouette.

Speed Lines: Protruding vertical reliefs that capture the energy of the 1920s.

A true architectural investment built to outlast the fast furniture era.

Most life drawing sessions happen in stark, white-walled studios. We prefer doing it surrounded by century-old teak and vintage Art Deco silhouettes.

For the next edition of Hands On!, we are teaming up with Art Again and Weekend Culture to bring a completely unique experience into the showroom. It is a chance to spend a Saturday afternoon capturing the human form, set entirely within an environment of beautifully curated provenance pieces.

Industry veteran Mr. Lim Kim Hian will be guiding the session, breaking down the physical discipline of his craft while you put charcoal to paper. Whether you are an experienced artist or haven't picked up a sketchpad since school, it is a brilliant excuse to slow down and observe.

Date: Saturday, 23 May
Time: 2:00 PM โ€“ 4:00 PM
Venue: Journey East, Tan Boon Liat Building #03-02
Tickets: $60 per pax

The standard dining table dictates exactly how you interact. The Luna removes the hierarchy entirely.

By abandoning sharp corners for a calm, asymmetrical top, this design shifts the focus toward fluid, social connection. There is no 'head' of the table, just a continuous, organic line that encourages conversation from every angle.

The structure below is an exercise in calculated contrast. Crafted entirely from d-Bodhi's signature century-old reclaimed teak, the base balances a wide flat column on one side with thick cylindrical pillars on the other. It provides a grounded, stable presence without the heavy visual bulk of a traditional dining base.

A quiet, modern focal point with decades of material history.

Material: Century-old reclaimed teak
Form: Asymmetrical top with a contrasting geometric base
Design: Fluid seating with no defined corners
Location: Now on the floor at our Tan Boon Liat showroom
