Welcome! We are a sewing company based in El Salvador striving to teach men and women valuable skills, providing them a chance for a better life. Why?
The Sowers of Jireh are a group of women who are sewing quilts and other handmade gifts in El Salvador. We want to see people learn a skill that could support their families and even more, be given hope, confidence and a chance at at better life. Many people have the desire to work but need to be given the chance and hand up to start. It started with a dream of starting a sewing centre where women
could come and learn a skill or use one they already had, but no opportunity to use it. A place to be encouraged, challenged, and paid fairly for their hard work. We started with 1 lady in our home with a sewing machine, and a few pairs of jeans. Now, 6 years later we continue to work with several ladies who will happily create custom quilts for you. We started out with basic patterns and are slowly adding more and more to the collection. Why the jeans? We wanted to find an inexpensive way for the ladies to be able purchase material. Jeans are readily available and can be purchased at an affordable cost. Also, we have many friends and teams from Canada that have been so great at donating material so that we can add this to the quilts. Without them we would not be able to produce these beautiful quilts at a reasonable cost. So thank you to everyone who has contributed to this project through donating material. Quilt Prices CAD
