Today I’m taking you to a place where the landscape plays by its own rules. 🇮🇹

We’re in Abruzzo, and honestly, it’s a bit of a wild child. One minute you’re looking at these harsh, dramatic mountain peaks, and the next, the land just rolls right down through the hills until it hits the Adriatic sea.
It’s beautiful, but it’s tough. Most people saw a “difficult” landscape, but Gianni Masciarelli saw a masterpiece waiting to happen.
He and his team had this incredible intuition—they spent years hunting for specific little plots of land. They realized that if you find just the right patch of soil with just the right breeze, you can make magic happen.

That’s exactly what’s in these bottles. Whether it’s the native Montepulciano or international stars like Merlot, they aren’t just “grown” here—they’re enhanced by this wild terrain.
The Villa Gemma and Marina Cvetić lines are basically Gianni’s way of saying: “Look what this land can do if you just listen to it.”

The estate is named after the “Angelus” prayer. It sits in a natural “amphitheater” where the bells of three different local churches—Saint-Émilion, Mazerat, and Martinat—can be heard ringing simultaneously. In the past, workers in the vineyards would stop their labor to pray when they heard the chime.

Château Angélus 2001: The Grand Vin. A powerhouse of Cabernet Franc and Merlot. Think velvet, cedar, and black truffle. The “Bond” wine at its absolute peak.

Le Carillon d’Angélus 2021: The second label that drinks like a first. Precise, elegant, and vibrating with fresh red fruit

N°3 d’Angélus 2022: The Merlot-heavy charmer. It’s the most approachable of the trio, focusing on pure fruit and soft, supple textures.

Château Tronquoy, situated in the heart of the appellation, is one of the oldest Saint-Estèphe wines. It takes its name from François Tronquoy, the estate’s first owner, and the place-name La Lande, meaning the heath, on which the Château’s historic vineyard is planted.

The Red: Château Tronquoy 2020
This is the estate’s “Grand Vin.” Saint-Estèphe is known for its powerful, structured reds, and this bottle is no exception.
• Appellation: Saint-Estèphe (Left Bank).
• Grapes: Typically a blend of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, with a splash of Petit Verdot.
Deep dark fruit (blackberry, blackcurrant) with notes of spice and earth. The 2020 vintage is known for being concentrated but very balanced.

The White: Blanc de Tronquoy 2020
This is a much rarer find. White wines from the Médoc (the “Bordeaux Blanc” label seen here) are produced in very small quantities compared to the reds.
• Appellation: Bordeaux Blanc.
• Grapes: A blend of Sémillon and Sauvignon Gris.
Unlike a zingy Sauvignon Blanc, this will be more textured and aromatic. Look for notes of white peach, citrus zest, and a distinct floral lift, often with a slightly waxy or creamy mouthfeel from the Sémillon.
