The pp701 Minimal Chair was designed specifically for Wegner's dining room. As the family moved into their new home, so did the first production of the Minimal Chair.

With minimal use of wood for the backrest, the upper and lower pieces connect the two armrests, transforming the center piece into the characteristic cross joint.
