This sensitivity for creating a “local place” plays a very important role in our design process. In the past 22 years, the firm has attained wide recognition in producing quality commercial, residential, educational, and public architecture in Turkey. The Mersin Maritime Commerce Building (MDTO) has received the most prestigious TMMO “National Building Award” in 2004. Firm’s other projects have also been published and have received recognition. To date Arikoglu Arkitekt has designed and completed variety of projects located in Adana, Mersin, Alanya and Bodrum. He received the “University of Maryland International Alumnus of the Year Award” in 1996 for his contribution to teaching and practice of architecture. His knowledge of USA building standards has allowed his firm to continuously provide architectural design services for the USA Consulate in Adana. These services ranged from construction supervision to interior design and repair work. Arikoglu continues to practice as a Principal / Designer in the Arikoglu Arkitekt Ltd. firm as well as serving on the Board of Fullbright Commission in Turkey.
