Sınıflar, koridorlar ve merdivenler; okulun gündelik yaşamını taşıyan mekânsal omurgayı oluşturur. St. Joseph Lisesi’nde iç mekânlar, tarihi yapıya saygılı bir yaklaşımla ve çağdaş eğitim mekânlarının gereklilikleri doğrultusunda yeniden kurgulandı. Aydınlık, okunabilir ve sakin iç mekânlar; öğrenmeyi destekleyen dengeli bir mimari atmosfer sunuyor.



Classrooms, corridors and staircases form the spatial backbone of daily school life. At St. Joseph High School, interiors were reconfigured with respect for the historic structure and in line with the requirements of contemporary education spaces. Bright, legible and calm interiors offer a balanced architectural atmosphere that supports learning.

Restorasyonun mimari niteliği çoğu zaman detaylarda görünür hale gelir. Kapı ve pencere doğramalarından metal mesh cephelere kadar her unsur; hem dönemin karakterini yansıtacak hem de günümüz gereksinimlerine yanıt verecek biçimde ele alındı. Bu proje, küçük ölçekli müdahalelerin bütüncül bir mimari dile nasıl katkı sunduğunu ortaya koyuyor.



The architectural quality of restoration often becomes visible through details. From wooden doors and window frames to metal mesh facades, each element was conceived to reflect the character of its era while responding to contemporary requirements. This project reveals how small-scale interventions contribute to a coherent architectural language.

Cepheler, yapının hem kente açılan yüzü hem de tarihsel kimliğinin mimari taşıyıcısıdır. St. Joseph Lisesi’nde tüm bloklarda ortak bir renk ve malzeme dili oluşturularak bütüncül bir algı hedeflendi. Simgesel detaylar ve güneş saati gibi öğeler korunurken, spor salonu cephesi çağdaş malzemelerle yeniden ele alınarak tescilli yapılarla bilinçli bir karşıtlık kurdu.



Facades are both the building’s interface with the city and carriers of its historical identity. At St. Joseph High School, a unified color and material palette was employed across all blocks to ensure architectural coherence. While symbolic elements such as the sundial were preserved, the sports hall facade was reinterpreted through contemporary materials, creating a deliberate contrast with the historic structures.

İç avlu, St. Joseph Lisesi’nin mekânsal organizasyonunun omurgasını oluşturur. Tüm blokların bu boşluk etrafında konumlanması, yapıya hem doğal ışık hem de güçlü bir iç yönelim kazandırır.

Yukarıdan bakıldığında avlu, yalnızca bir açık alan değil; karşılaşmaların, dolaşımın ve okul yaşamının sürekliliğini sağlayan mekânsal merkezdir. Aynı zamanda St. Joseph’i öne çıkaran spor kültürünün de sahnesidir: öğle tatillerinde ve her teneffüste voleybol, basketbol gibi oyunlarla bahçe, öğrencileri sürekli hareket ve birlikte üretimle buluşturur. Mimari olarak tanımlı bu boşluk, okulun fiziksel olduğu kadar sosyal kimliğini de şekillendirir.



The courtyard forms the backbone of St. Joseph High School’s spatial organization. With all blocks arranged around this void, the building gains both natural light and a strong internal orientation.

Seen from above, the courtyard is not merely an open space but the spatial core that structures encounters, circulation and daily school life. It is also the stage of St. Joseph’s strong sports culture: during lunch breaks and every recess, volleyball and basketball games continuously activate the space, bringing students together through movement and collective energy. Architecturally defined, this void shapes not only the physical but also the social identity of the school.

Bir okulun kapısı yalnızca bir geçiş noktası değil, güvenlik, aidiyet ve temsil üreten mimari bir eştir. St. Joseph Lisesi’nin giriş kurgusu, öğrencileri koruyan, kontrollü ve aynı zamanda davetkâr bir mekânsal eşik olarak yeniden tasarlandı. Fiziksel bir sınır olmanın ötesinde, bu kapı okulun kimliğini, disiplinini ve kamusal duruşunu simgesel olarak da ifade ediyor.



A school gate is not merely a point of access, but an architectural threshold producing safety, belonging and representation. The entrance of St. Joseph High School was redesigned as a controlled yet welcoming spatial threshold that protects students while expressing the institution’s identity, discipline and public presence in both physical and symbolic terms.
