Why call it the Little Lamb Discovery Table?

Because I didn’t want to build a table that was only for one kind of play.

I wanted to create a space where a child could explore, create, experiment, get a little messy and discover something new.

Today it might be sensory play.

Tomorrow it could be crafting, building, sorting, writing, water play, a nature activity or a little science experiment.

The idea is simple:

Give little hands the space to discover, and let curiosity lead the way.

That’s what I’ve been working towards through all the testing, feedback and refinements over the past few months.

And now, I’m getting very close to showing you what we’ve been building.

I wasn’t trying to build just another children’s table.

I wanted to create a space where tiny hands could discover, little minds could get curious, and imagination could take the lead.

Something that could be used for sensory play, creativity, discovery and learning — without telling a child exactly how they have to play.

That’s been one of the biggest lessons from developing this piece.

I’ve tested, listened, adjusted and tested again. And each time, I’ve been reminded that sometimes the best designs are the ones that leave room for the child to make them their own.

This is only the beginning.

One of the biggest lessons I’ve learnt over the past few months is that good design is rarely finished on the first attempt.

Every pretotyping session taught me something.

Each little adjustment brought the design closer to what I originally hoped it could become.

I’ve always believed that if something is going to carry my name, it should be something I’m genuinely proud of.

I’m getting close now…

And I can’t wait to share what’s been taking shape in the workshop. 🤍

It’s been a little quiet around here lately.

Between work, family life, and everything in between, I haven’t spent much time on social media over the past couple of weeks.

But that doesn’t mean the workshop has been quiet.

Behind the scenes, I’ve been spending time refining, testing, and improving a project that’s been close to my heart for a while now. I’ve had the opportunity to gather feedback, observe how children interact with it, and make thoughtful changes along the way.

One thing I’ve learned is that good design isn’t about getting it right the first time. It’s about listening, learning, and being willing to make improvements until it serves its purpose well.

I’m grateful for everyone who has shared ideas, feedback, and encouragement throughout the process.

There’s still a little work to do, but I’m excited about what’s taking shape in the workshop.

Life has been pretty busy lately.

Work, family, and the usual responsibilities have filled most of the calendar these past few weeks.

But I still managed to carve out some time in the workshop with my daughter to try something completely new—a flying bird mobile inspired by one of Trinidad and Tobago’s national bird, the Scarlet Ibis.

Sometimes the best projects aren’t the ones you planned. They’re the ones that begin with, “I wonder if we can make that?”

One of the things I enjoy most about woodworking is that there’s always something new to discover. Every project teaches a different skill, challenges you in a new way, and reminds you that creativity grows when you’re willing to try.

The Scarlet Ibis is one of the most striking examples of the beauty the Father left in His creation. From its brilliant crimson-red feathers to the grace of its flight, it was inspiring to translate a little of that beauty into a handmade mobile.

The mobile isn’t perfect, but neither are most worthwhile things when you build them for the first time.

And honestly, that’s part of the fun.

One year of Roxy 🐾🎉

It’s hard to believe our little Frenchie is already one year old.

Over the past year, Roxy has brought plenty of laughs, energy, mischief, and companionship to our home. She’s become a much-loved part of the family.

To celebrate her birthday, we headed into the workshop to build something special just for her—a new feeding stand.

There’s something meaningful about making things for the ones you love, whether they walk on two legs or four.

The celebration was made even sweeter with family around and a special visit from her cousin Bailey, my parents’ puppy, who came along to help celebrate the occasion.

Watching my two legged helper get excited about creating something for Roxy reminded me why I enjoy working with my hands in the first place. It’s not always about the finished piece—it’s about the memories made along the way.

A little break from the usual routine 🤍

Took a few days off work for a staycation with my bestie and her cousin.

We spent a day DDI, enjoyed an amazing dinner at and just slowed things down to enjoy some simple family time together.

Then Saturday was a completely different pace — a 5K hosted by with .jo.ann .619 and

And well… doubles after a 5K just tastes better 🇹🇹

Full weekend. Full heart. Grateful for the memories.

Mother’s Day project 🌸

My daughter wanted to give her mum a picture frame for Mother’s Day, so this weekend I headed into the workshop and tried building one from scratch.

It was my first time making a frame, so there was definitely some learning along the way — measuring angles, fitting corners, and figuring things out as I went. But that’s one of the things I enjoy most about woodworking. There’s always something new to learn.

The best part is that she’ll still get to add her touch by finishing it herself before giving it to her mum.

Sometimes the most meaningful gifts aren’t perfect — they’re personal 🤍

This is what a weekend looks like for me.

Rainy Saturday meant staying in — so my daughter and I made the most of it and brought home the newest member of the family - a little red ear slider 🐢.

We spent the day setting up her space and just enjoying time together.

Sunday after church, I finally got around to unboxing a tool I’ve been looking forward to for a while.

Life balances itself — slow, simple moments on one day and focused the next day…worship first, then work.

I’m grateful for both and the two new additions 🤍

This time of year in Trinidad, the poui trees bloom.

Pink and yellow scattered across the landscape — a quiet reminder that certain seasons always come back around.

Growing up, it always lined up with exam time. CXC. A Levels. Long days of studying and a little (ok a lotttt) of stress.

Today I visited UWI St. Augustine with my .jo.ann , and seeing those trees again brought all of that back.

The Pink Poui or Tabebuia rosea is one of my favourites. Not just for how it looks in bloom, but for what it becomes.

The Creator designed it with beauty first — covered in soft pink flowers, often standing almost bare of leaves, yet full of life. 

And when that same tree is milled into lumber (Appamat), it takes on a different kind of purpose.

The wood is strong, workable, and carries its own natural grain and character — something that can be shaped into furniture, built to last and be used daily. 

There’s something meaningful in that.

That a tree can stand in full beauty…
and then, in the hands of a craftsman, become something useful.

I’m inspired not only by my daughter, but also by the natural beauty the Father left in His creation.

From the bloom of the poui to the grain in the wood, there is beauty and purpose in what He has made — and that’s something I carry with me into the workshop.
