Ever feel like you’re slowly rolling toward your partner in bed?

It’s tempting to assume the mattress is the whole problem, but I also want to know what’s happening underneath it. In this video, I show you the slat and center support leg and explain why I check those parts when a bed feels like it’s dipping toward the middle.

If this sounds familiar, come see me at Live Well in Alamogordo. A photo of your bed frame and support underneath can help us start figuring it out.

Does it feel like you have to climb into bed—or drop down onto it?

The height you feel isn’t just the mattress. The foundation, base, and legs underneath all add to it. In this video, I show you the pieces I check when someone tells me their bed sits too high or too low.

If you’re trying to get the height right, come see me at Live Well in Alamogordo. Bring a photo of your current setup, and we’ll start there.

You ask for a firm mattress, try two of them, and they feel nothing alike. Which one is actually right for you?

That “firm” label only gets the conversation started. In this video, I lie on two different beds so you can see why I ask people to test a mattress in the position they really sleep in.

Your shoulder and hip need to settle comfortably while the rest of your body feels supported. That takes more than pressing on the mattress with your hand.

If you’ve been shopping by firmness labels, come see me at Live Well in Alamogordo. We’ll find out what works for your body.

Ever lie on a mattress that seems comfortable, but something still feels off around your head, neck, or shoulder?

The pillow may be changing how you rest on that bed. In this video, I keep the mattress the same and switch pillows so you can see the difference.

When I fit someone for a mattress, I want them to try it in their normal sleep position with a pillow that works for them. Otherwise, we might judge the mattress based on a problem the pillow is creating.

If your sleep setup isn’t feeling right, come see me at Live Well in Alamogordo. We’ll check the pieces together.
