Twenty years ago, we took a chance on a dream. I don’t think either of us could have imagined then just how much that decision would change our lives.
In the beginning, we did a little bit of everything. If someone needed something done in their home, we figured out how to do it. Eventually, we found our place in kitchens and bathrooms, and somewhere along the way, that little dream became Trussell’s Transformations.
When I look at this picture, though, I realize that for the last 20 years we weren’t just building a business.
We were building our life.
We were raising these two amazing kids while trying to figure out how to be business owners at the same time. There were long days and late nights. We made mistakes. We learned some lessons the hard way. We celebrated some pretty incredible wins, and there were definitely times we looked at each other and thought, what in the world are we doing?
But we kept going. Together.
This weekend we had the honor of celebrating 20 years surrounded by so many people who have been part of our journey, and as I looked around, I just kept thinking about how incredibly grateful I am.
Grateful for every customer who took a chance on a small, local family business. Grateful for the people who have worked beside us over the years. Grateful for the friendships we’ve made along the way. And grateful for our family and friends, who have lived this crazy business-owner life right along with us.
To everyone who has trusted us, supported us, referred us, worked with us, cheered us on, or simply believed in us along the way—thank you. You are part of this story too.
I’m incredibly proud of the business we built, but when I look at this picture, I’m even more
proud of the family and the life we built while doing it.
20 years down…and we’re not done yet.
