We’re still harvesting some gorgeous veg despite getting the hard frost on Saturday morning and losing all the summer crops. Frost 2 weeks after the cranes came back 👏

Happy Autumn, and happy flood irrigation day at the farm! What an unexpected boon, ditch water coming on a dry day between pretty epic rainstorms. We’ll take it, after the summer we’ve had… We harvested a bounty of watermelons today as well, in surprising quantities for an experiment - 600+ lbs! Every season has its highs and lows and weird failures and unexpected successes. Certainly keeps things interesting!

Farm party! Can’t believe it’s already the 10th one! We’re going back to the roots of the rager, celebrating all things Chispas Farm, with games, grooves, & goats 🐐

Saturday Sept. 26th, bringing that autumn equinox energy in, 6PM til 11PM. 229 Saavedra Rd SW 🙌

Bring something for the Frito pie bar/potluck, bring blankets or chairs, bring your dancing shoes, bring your friends! Kids 💯 welcome with a parent/guardian, just no falling in the pond!

Street parking (respect the neighbors & don’t park in front of gates or mailboxes!) & carpool if possible 👌

Join us at the farm Sept. 19th for an evening of music, in support of moms and babies. There will be several local bands performing, plus food & games! Admission is a pack of diapers. Bring a blanket or chairs, bring a picnic, and enjoy a sweet evening as summer draws to a close!

Upcoming Field Days at the farm, August 8th & August 22nd! Join farmers from Tierra Luna Seed Collaborative to learn about seed saving on the 8th, and farmer Casey Holland will teach drip irrigation techniques & setup on the 22nd 👏 Free events, no registration needed, both followed by a growers social afterwards. See you there!

market has been wonderful so far this year! We’ve had a larger rotation of the crew working the booth over the past weeks and it’s been good to see our returning customers & make new friends! First CSA share of the summer! It’s fun to kick it off with a bounty of veg, and we’re delighted to have so many faithful members plus a lot of new faces this year. Thanks for the trust and the excitement!

It’s been such a nice spring into early summer, with cooler and wetter weather. We’re in a heat wave now, but today gave us a little monsoon rain too so no complaints!

New stickers & t-shirt drop! Our farm is q***r centered, which maybe goes without saying, but may as well say it. Happy Pride!

This year’s t-shirt honors Strider, our beloved Muscovy Duck who was the guardian of the pond, friend to wild mallards, and unequivocally a q***r icon. 👏 RIP
