The underside of this tabletop conceal a few mini-butterfly keys that gently bracket my small endorsement. I don't do it often but more and more I've been asked to 'sign' my furniture pieces & woodworks. I think I might have to look into a logo branding iron.

We've got sliding dovetails in all directions! Last look before glue-up. Any guesses on what's about to be assembled? Wrong answers only.

Close up detail of luscious river coffee table. I typically avoid burlled grain when working with live edge slabs. Figured grain, great, but burlled grain in a live-edge means a lot of work! And even though I had first pick out of 6 or 7 Cottonwood slabs, I immediately gravitated toward this runt of the litter. I knew all the figure throughout and this electrified burlled section would prove challenging during milling and finishing- but... I also saw something quite special just waiting to be unlocked. So much so, that after carving out the knotted bark, I elected to fill with a semi-translucent clear epoxy to accentuate the surrounding dimensional grain even further... giving the table yet another focal point. The eye of the knotty storm as it were.

We could call it an early Mother's Day present, because my wife certainly knows if I had originally set out with this project as being her Mother's Day gift then I'd never have finished on time 😜 Its still missing a drawer-box above the cooler, so I'll aim to have that finished in time for her actual Mommy day.
