If you haven't been out to Paces Mill lately, August is the perfect time to go! Thanks to the New Day Palisades initiative, the park has seen real improvements, including resurfaced and expanded parking and better vehicular flow and access throughout. The result is a smoother, more comfortable experience from the moment you pull in.
The options are endless, and it's all right here in Cumberland along the Chattahoochee. 🌿

The Chattahoochee River runs right through Cumberland, and it's one of the district's most underappreciated assets this time of year.
Paces Mill offers direct river access for fishing, kayaking and trail walking, along with Thursday morning Wellness on the River sessions in partnership with YMCA Metro Atlanta. The recent New Day Palisades improvements have made the park more accessible and comfortable than ever, and it's all a short drive from the heart of the district.
For those looking to stay out of the sun altogether, The Battery Atlanta and Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre have you covered with shade, great food and a full lineup of programming through the end of summer.

The Cobb Board of Commissioners has approved the 2028 SPLOST Renewal project list, building on a funding program that has driven critical infrastructure investment across the county for three decades. SPLOST is a one-percent sales tax that supports major projects including transportation improvements, parks, libraries, and public facilities. The approved list reflects priorities gathered through extensive community engagement and public survey feedback earlier this year.
