Auburn Avenue Research Library on African American Culture and History and Charis welcome Lachi in conversation with Dom Kelly for a powerful celebration of I Identify as Blind—a bold, joyful invitation to celebrate Disability Culture, identity, and power.
This dynamic conversation explores how disability has always shaped culture and driven progress. With humor, heart, and radical honesty, Lachi reframes disability not as a deficit, but as a source of collective strength—spotlighting trailblazers from politics, entertainment, tech, and music, and revealing how innovations created for disabled communities benefit us all.

Born legally blind, she is the first openly disabled National Trustee of the Recording Academy (GRAMMYs), a USA Today Woman of the Year, and has been featured by The New York Times, TIME, Good Morning America, PBS, and more.
