Another Geaux

This Another Geaux rehab was fun to work on. I was excited to see the beautiful wood grain that revealed itself when the thick layers of blue paint was stripped from this solid wood table. After revealing the wood, I knew I didn’t want to cover it up again. I whitewashed the entire table and that was absolutely the right decision.

The chairs were a great deal at an estate sale. I knew they were vintage and after researching, I discovered they are Victorian Revival from the late 1800’s.

Ma Cheri Deux by Another Geaux

This beautifully refinished solid wood dining set has been thoughtfully reimagined in soft pale blue with a hand-finished natural wood top accented by a delicate whitewash that allows the wood grain to remain the star of the show.

Instead of leaving you with an awkward extra chair, I transformed the original captain’s chair into a charming upholstered bench, giving this set a custom look that’s both beautiful and practical.

So this little cabinet was definitely headed for the burn pile. I’m so thankful they posted it on marketplace first. She was peeling on the top and so loose in all her joints that we had to handle her with care every time we worked on her. After stripping her back to her original wood finish, gluing, clamping and drilling her back together, she started to show potential and we knew she deserved Another Geaux. Shortly after being reintroduced on marketplace, she had a new home to continue her story. See her before and after.

Another beautiful rehab ready to grace a new home. This is a 6 foot table with four chairs. All are solid wood. The color is a rich navy blue, Polo by Heirloom Traditions. The top is walnut stained a rich brown to show off the beautiful wood grain. The chairs are painted with the same navy blue and have been reupholstered with a beautiful but durable canvas print. This set will last for decades. It’s a solid wood piece for your dining room that doubles as art.
