This pew origonally comes from Cook Avenue Presbyterian Church, organized in 1893 and active until 1931 at 1208 North Sarah Street, near Cook Avenue in St. Louis’s West End. The congregation was one of many neighborhood churches founded as the city expanded westward in the 1890s. In the past century the church has housed a few different congregations.
Typical of late-Victorian Protestant seating, it is solid wood—oak—with carved or paneled ends and restored to be strong enough for families.
A genuine piece of St. Louis architectural salvage with local provenance. Suitable as a bench, hall piece, or collection item. Expect honest age and wear but a pew as strong as new.
$599
