Supporters see this approach as a way to give voters more flexibility, encourage thoughtful decisions, and offer a fairer reflection of what the public wants. Strengthening democracy starts with exploring election systems that put voters’ choices at the center of the process.

Alabama’s infant mortality rate is 7.1 deaths per 1,000 live births—well above the national rate—and its maternal mortality rate is about 35 deaths per 100,000 live births.

Protecting democratic values means defending a free press, respecting constitutional rights, and ensuring that no leader operates without meaningful checks and balances. Elected officials have a responsibility to serve the public, address the rising cost of living, and make decisions that put people’s needs ahead of political convenience.

Economic policies and decisions made during times of conflict should also be examined for their impact on everyday families, especially when fuel prices and household expenses continue to create financial strain. Moving the country forward requires leaders and lawmakers to put accountability, affordability, and the public interest first.

‼️ FAIR WAGES AND WORKER RIGHTS MATTER ‼️

Every worker deserves a fair opportunity to speak up about workplace conditions, advocate for better benefits, and earn enough to keep up with the rising cost of living. Strengthening collective bargaining protections and increasing minimum wages could help workers gain a stronger voice while easing some of the financial pressure on working families.

Tipped employees also deserve attention, especially when their base pay falls far behind everyday expenses. Building a stronger workforce starts with recognizing that fair compensation and meaningful worker protections benefit communities as a whole.
