In an effort to have the coolest apartment in Boston we are adding some of my old pieces into our space, as well as some new ones in the works.

This is a catalpa and walnut side table I designed, featuring the catalpa slabs and utilizing some traditional joinery that ties the look together.

We made this bohemian corner with all the plants and this table it has a nice and chill vibe.

Best part of the office so far. I love this corner with the side table I built. Now that we have some plants in here it’s coming together. Soon I’m building a steel and wood shelving unit that will be the finishing touch, stay tuned.

Mondays aren’t so bad when you get to work at a desk like this!

Rift and quartered white oak desk with drawers on custom steel legs. Love this top with the rustic feel from knots filled with charcoal epoxy.

Hope everyone had a good 4th! Gotta break out the charcuterie board for special occasions. 🇺🇸

It’s been long time no post from me and there is a good reason for that:

I am excited to announce Debek Designs has moved into a new shop!!

I used to work out of a 2 car garage that I built out into a workshop. That space served me well for a few years, but it was time for an upgrade. I am now in a 2500 sqft. shop with two shop mates who are cabinetmakers. The move was a long time coming but I’m now all set up and making furniture in the new space.
This move came with a location change as well, moving from Fairfield County to just north of Boston. Don’t worry, I’m still serving all my Fairfield county clients as I am down in Fairfield often.

I owe a sincere thank you to everyone who ever reached out or is a client, as this expansion would not be possible with out you.

I am so unbelievably excited for what is to come.

I’ve been wanting to get into brass so I bought some to play around with and this was the result.

Walnut and brass business card holder. Getting the inlay perfect on this was tricky, but it came out nice.

I also finished the brass in the inlay to protect against patina, whereas the card rest is raw brass so it will be a good experiment to understand the patina/aging for future projects.

I really like this design and I am thinking of doing a small run of these. Let me know what you think!

Latest furniture piece got delivered a little while ago — this one is a custom work station with a height-adjustable top and accessories.

This design is a rendition of a table by a Swedish designer that needed the dimensions and finishes tweaked to fit the client’s needs. The frame is welded and fully blended to be seamless with no visible welds. The metal was then finished with a vibrant candy purple powder coat with sparkles done by American Dry Stripping & Powder Coatings. Install day was cloudy so swipe to see a close up of the powder coat.

The table top is a rift sawn white oak table top with a white cerused finish. Table height can be adjusted to either standing or sitting level at 5 different heights.

There are also accessory boxes and hooks that can be moved to any of the horizontal supports on the frame.

This project was awesome and one of my favorite pieces I’ve made to date. Thank you Shawna Feeley Interiors and Missy Papageorge for trusting me to make this work station!

Display cabinets I recently finished. These go into a tight cavity above some pre-existing closet builtins.

The finish is a white lacquer that surrounds the inner glass panel that will display the clients handbags. It also has built in lighting strips to highlight what is inside of the cabinets.

The doors swing up on a gas assisted hinge mechanism to hold open the weight of the door.

Reclaimed beam bench. This bench is made from a huge 14 inch wide reclaimed beam. The legs are 1/2 inch thick blackened steel that has been inset into the beam, so it’s flush on the top and sides.

This bench came out perfect, I couldn’t be happier.

I’m always in awe of the near instant transformation the steel makes when I apply patina.

Keep an eye out to see this incorporated in a bench I’m finishing up next week!

Catalpa slab sofa table I recently finished.

The legs for these slabs are walnut and are joined with tusked mortise and tenons. I love the overall design and proportions of this piece.
