Support your local arts! 🎭 The Armory performing arts center in Brighton is a gorgeous space that needed a refresh on their 12 foot bar. We refinished the cabinet and made two 12 foot bar tops from Cinnamon camphor wood with some deep red epoxy. Even threw on some new wheels.

Trees! They are just incredible. The pillars of entire ecosystems. Wise and stoic sentinels. My infatuation with them far exceeds my time as a woodworker. The aptly named “Cool Trees” folder on my computer spans decades of exactly that. I stop for cool trees and always will.
You should too; they are always worth closer investigation.

A few more pics of the D&D/dining hybrid table and 🪑

What a fun project; 6 person D&D table that folds up for a flat dining surface. 6 of my chairs to go along with it. I should probably have a name for the chairs at this point. MkVI or VII now with subtle tweaks each set. Maybe I’ll call them the Harbingers; seems a bit too serious for my taste. I’ll stick with “chair” for now.

This was a fun one! Custom hollow body table for playing a Guqin. Matching sapele bench with ebony wedged tenons.
Guqin is a quiet ancient Chinese stringed instrument that lays across the table. By creating a hollow body table it increases the overall volume/projection of the instrument.

Sapele and iroko outdoor table, chairs and bench. This one was designed to flat pack and ship to Virginia Beach which I am happy to say arrived undamaged.

This custom bar was delivered to the foothills of Boulder. We used Hormigo; also known as macacauba. An extremely dense and waxy/oily Central American hardwood. The red with black figuring makes for a striking contrast to the white sapwood. That’s exactly why we made a bookmatch for each door/end panel with a little splash of that white sapwood. Ebony bow ties and flame birch interior bring it all home for a truly unique piece.

It was great to do some photography that wasn’t just studio product shots of furniture. Took a trip down the Sangre de Cristo mountains though San Louis valley then back up through the royal gorge/pikes peak. It was windy, blizzard conditions at times and so much fun.
