🏀 While our household has been lifelong Tar Heel fans, Randolph’s Custom Caskets LLC is proud to announce an exciting new partnership with NC State University!

Today’s contract signing marks a tremendous opportunity for the future of RCC and an important milestone in the work we’ve been doing behind the scenes.

Every step forward matters, and we’re excited about what lies ahead. We look forward to sharing more as the time is right.

Two years ago today, Hurricane Helene changed everything.

For two years, we've been trying to rebuild without a building.

Today, for the first time, we can look across the property and actually see the beginning.

It's just cleared ground and grading.

But after everything it took to get here, it means a whole lot more than that.

We've never really told the full story of what these two years have cost, what we've lost along the way, or what kept us going when the road seemed to disappear in front of us.

Today, we're telling that story.

Two Years Later, We Can Finally See the Beginning.

The old shop is officially taken down, and site grading is complete.

Clearing out the old structure and carving out this new footprint is the first visible sign of our rebuild after nearly two years.

Building a foundation, from the ground up, takes patience and precision. There are still plenty of moving parts and steps to clear before concrete gets poured and walls go up. The ground will need time to settle before the pad can be poured, and the concrete itself will need time to cure before construction can begin.

So, even in the best-case scenario, there is still a little waiting ahead of us. But having a clean, level pad prepared on this hill is a huge milestone.

For now, we're taking this one phase at a time and letting the process happen the way it needs to happen.

A huge shoutout to Higher Ground Grading for doing incredible work clearing the site and moving all this earth. And thank you to everyone who continues to stand by our family and our business as we work toward rebuilding.

The old chapter is cleared.

The ground is ready.

The next chapter is waiting on us.

Four guides. One purpose.

We built these because families deserve better information when they need it most.

Yesterday we told you our resource section was finally live, and we introduced two of the guides that started it: The Wayfinder and The Ally’s Guide.

But there was something we didn't want to bury in yesterday's announcement.

There are four guides available now. And every one of them is completely free.

Not free with a purchase.
Not free in exchange for your email address.
Not a preview of something we're going to sell you later.

Free.

Because when someone is suddenly responsible for making decisions after a death, the last thing they should have to do is sort through a mountain of vague advice, conflicting information, and industry jargon.

So we built something better.

The Wayfinder — a practical guide for understanding what comes next and finding your footing through the process.

The Ally’s Guide — for the person standing beside a grieving family who wants to help, but may not know what to say, what to do, or when to step in.

The First 48 Hours — a straightforward roadmap for the immediate days after a death, when there is little time, a lot to handle, and very little room for confusion.

The Funeral Home Meeting Guide — a step-by-step resource to help families walk into one of the most important meetings they will have with a clearer understanding of what needs to happen, what questions to ask, and what decisions can wait.

These aren't four short checklists thrown together to fill a resource page.

We built them carefully. We wrote them for real people facing real situations. We tried to answer the questions people often don't know they are supposed to ask until they're already sitting in the middle of it.

And we built them without an agenda.

You don't have to buy anything from us to use them.

If they help your family, a friend, a neighbor, or someone you haven't even met yet, then they have done what we intended them to do.

Read them. Save them. Share them with someone who may need them someday.

Because some information is simply too important to put behind a paywall.

The four guides are available now in the Resource section of our website.

We told you the last time we posted that we were going to stay quiet until we had something worth saying.

We have been busy behind the scenes. While we are prepping the ground to begin demolition and grading for our new shop next week, we have also been doing some heavy lifting digitally. We are currently overhauling our website to give you a much more straightforward, seamless user experience.

Part of that update is a brand new resource section. We just published two new pieces: The Wayfinder and The Ally’s Guide.

These aren't just generic lists. They are practical, honest guides built to help carry the weight when families are navigating the heavy responsibility of saying goodbye. When the time comes, having the right information matters.

Head to the website to read them, and let us know what you think. We will have more updates—and more resources—coming over the next few days.

The silence of the shop is where the real work happens.

Some might call it "quiet time," but in this trade, silence is usually a sign of deep focus. When you’re responsible for building a family’s Final Tribute, there’s no room for noise or distractions.
Our family has been at this for five generations. If there’s one thing that history has taught us, it’s that quality isn’t rushed, and true skill doesn’t need to shout to be felt. We aren't interested in the "fast" way or the "easy" way; we are interested in the right way.
We’ve been keeping our heads down and our eyes on the grain. The work we do carries a weight that we take with the utmost seriousness, and that often requires a level of dedication that doesn't always make it to a social media feed.
Stay tuned. We have plenty to share soon.

Because we spend our lives in this trade, we often think about the person who had to build that cross.

The historical reality is that it wasn’t built with care or precision. It was a crude, heavy, utilitarian tool designed by an empire for brutal efficiency.

But the most important thing ever built from wood wasn’t designed to hold a body forever. It was built to create a way through.

Today, we celebrate the completion of that bridge.

From our family to yours, Happy Easter.

127 years ago, a coffin fell from a cliff in Poland. It sounds like the start of a legend, but it’s a cold, hard fact of archaeology. This hollowed-out oak trunk, preserved for nearly 1,800 years, crashed down to the Baltic coast in 1899. Scientists have spent decades arguing over the dates, but for us at Randolph’s, the real story is in the wood.

Most people see a museum piece. We see a standard of construction that hasn't changed.

When you build the last physical resting place a person will ever need, you aren’t just "making a product." You are working with a material that is meant to endure. This woman wasn’t a princess or a member of the elite, as they once thought, she was likely a commoner. Yet, she was laid to rest in a vessel that protected her for almost two millennia.

That is the level of seriousness we bring to the workshop every single day.

Five generations of family legacy have taught us that there is no room for shortcuts when you are honoring a life.

The weight of this craft is something we carry with deep respect. We don’t need to tell you the quality of our work; the precision of the grain and the strength of the build tell that story for us.

True compassion means understanding that every life, regardless of status, deserves a departure marked by dignity and extraordinary skill.
Science finally solved the mystery of the dates, but the mystery of why it lasted so long isn’t a mystery to us. It lasted because someone cared enough to build it right.

We’re still building them that way.
