Our Story

The Nelson family has been serving Northwest Georgia for over 70 years. Having started as a tire recapping business after the close of WWII, the Nelson’s soon evolved to carry such things as guns, mailboxes, pocket knives, radios, televisions, lawn equipment, camcorders, and VCR’s among other things. In the 1990’s, the Nelson’s began focusing on home goods including appliances, electronics, mattresses, and furniture. Having survived through many ups and downs, the store is in its third generation and is now owned by Tripp Nelson. The new Nelson’s Furniture & Mattress Mart specializes in home decor, furniture, and mattresses. The folks at Nelson’s look forward to serving its customers of Northwest Georgia for the many years to come.
