**Beyond the Workshop Doors — A Helping Hand**
One of the biggest additions to the workshop recently has been this CNC.
For me, it isn't about replacing the craftsmanship that goes into each piece. It's about giving me another set of hands and another set of capabilities.
The CNC can handle precise, repetitive work while I focus on other parts of a project. That means better consistency, more possibilities, and ultimately more time to focus on the details that make each piece unique.
In this video, I'm cutting a reference grid into the wasteboard. It may not look like much, but this grid will help with alignment, positioning, and layout on future projects.
And I'll be honest—I'm learning too. Even with previous CNC experience, getting familiar with a new machine and working through VCarve again has been a learning process. There have been plenty of small lessons along the way, and I'm sure there will be plenty more.
That's part of what I enjoy about woodworking. There's always something new to learn, another technique to improve, or another tool to figure out how to use.
The CNC is just that—a tool.
The creativity, the decisions, the problem-solving, and the craftsmanship still start here in the workshop.
**This is only the beginning, and I'm excited to see what we can create with it.**
