One of the biggest misconceptions about working with a designer is thinking you need to have everything decided beforehand.
You don’t.
Our job is to help guide the process — narrowing options, creating a plan, and helping your home come together in a way that feels thoughtful and personal to you.

—GEORGE—
A furry, wagging tail and a sweet whimper of excitement is my idea of a good morning greeting. That’s how most days at Traditions started for all of us as George would be at the door waiting, usually with a stuffed animal in his mouth.
Our sweet, lovable, furry 72 pounds of golden retriever passed away yesterday. He had not been well for a few days but he mostly kept that to himself. As with many dogs of that breed, George had developed benign tumors that eventually interfered with his internal organs and even though he had been to the vet twice this week, no one could have predicted what happened.
His illness had not stopped him from enjoying his normal store treats Friday morning when he got to work…a smear of peanut butter on a paper plate and a couple of dog biscuits. That’s one reason his sudden passing shocked us all.
George belonged to Kristin and Patrick Hobson. When Kristin joined the Traditions staff over five years ago, she and George, then 5, had rarely been apart so not bringing him to work wasn’t even considered.
It didn’t take long for George to become a Park Road Shopping Center attraction. He had his regular visitors, young and old alike. Newcomers to our store always had the same questions…how old is he, what’s his name and who does he belong to. If they didn’t ask, I just let folks think he was mine.
I could go on and on with “George” stories. How he discreetly found and ate Sarah’s surprise birthday cake, how he knew everyone’s lunch habits and exactly what time to go to the right desk, and how he did NOT like goldendoodles (sorry about that to all of you goldendoodles).
But we will end it here and those of you who knew and loved George can remember him as you will. Because as I told Kristin, “there will never be another one like him.” 🤍
