There’s nothing quite like seeing one of our handcrafted tables finally at home in a beautifully finished space! 🤎

We delivered this gorgeous American chestnut dining table a little while back, and our customers were kind enough to share these photos now that their dining room is complete, including that stunning new light fixture!

Handcrafted from reclaimed American chestnut, this table measures an impressive 9 feet 6 inches long by 46 inches wide, with a substantial 1.5-inch-thick top featuring beautiful natural live edges that preserve the unique character of the wood. It rests on a timeless four-legged base featuring solid 3.5-inch square American chestnut legs and a custom 3-inch apron.

The warmth, natural character, and rich history of the American chestnut pair beautifully with the room’s elegant finishes. And with those incredible water views, we can’t imagine a more perfect setting!

For us, the best part of what we do isn’t just building furniture. It’s seeing our work become part of someone’s home, where family and friends will gather, share meals, celebrate milestones, and create memories for generations to come.

A heartfelt thank-you to our wonderful customers for sharing these beautiful photos and allowing us to be a small part of their home.

This was a meaningful order for me.

Many of you may not know that I’m a graduate of Massachusetts Maritime Academy. I attended Mass Maritime after serving in the United States Coast Guard, and I have a lot of great memories from my time on campus.

Recently, another Buccaneer 🏴‍☠️ walked through the doors of Cape Cod Colonial Tables looking for a custom dining table. He’s a member of the Class of ’81, and he and his wife had recently completed some renovations that left them with a smaller dining space.

Traditional chairs weren’t going to work well in the room, so we designed the setup around two custom benches instead. The original plan was to have one bench tucked beneath the table along the wall while the other remained out for everyday use. The table also needed to stay at just 30 inches wide to keep the space comfortable and functional.

As the project came together, they realized the table could sit perfectly in the center of the space, allowing both benches to be used every day.

The entire set was handcrafted from our reclaimed American chestnut, and it was especially rewarding to build something for a fellow Maritimer.

From one Buccaneer to another — thank you for trusting me with your table.

Go Bucs! 🏴‍☠️

A true statement piece.

This 10-foot table was handcrafted from reclaimed American chestnut and recently delivered to one of our repeat customers. The top is paired with a substantial 5” x 5” chestnut stretcher and a bold metal X-base, creating a striking contrast between centuries-old wood and clean, modern lines.

Every piece of reclaimed chestnut has its own history, character, and imperfections — which means no two tables we build will ever be exactly alike.

Built by hand. Built with history. Built to last for generations.

This was such a fun project to work on.

Years ago, I built and delivered this 8’6” American chestnut table on our King trestle base. As the family grew and their home changed, they recently came back to me with an idea for giving their table a new life.

We shortened the original table to 6’6” and used a portion of the American chestnut that was removed to create a second, smaller table. We also gave the original table a fresh new look by replacing the King trestle with our Tristan trestle.

For the new side table, we went with a four-legged base painted black to tie in beautifully with their black chairs.

What I loved most about this project was being able to turn one table into two while preserving a piece that already held years of family memories.

Now both pieces can continue to be part of their home for many more years to come.

Another happy customer, and that’s what really matters.

Some would say this is just a simple desk—and maybe it is—but every detail was designed specifically for the customer who will be using it.

This desk features a 1.125” thick x 30” wide x 48” long American chestnut top, paired with 2.75” solid American chestnut Shaker legs. Because this piece was made for a very tall customer, I reduced the width of the aprons to provide plenty of clearance between the top of their legs and the bottom of the desk.

I always strive to create pieces that are not only beautiful, but functional and comfortable enough to be enjoyed every day. Sometimes the smallest design details make the biggest difference.

This stunning American chestnut table was just delivered!

Measuring 1.5” thick × 42” wide × 108” long, the customer wanted the substantial 1.5” thickness we offer but opted for clean, straight edges instead of the live edge.

They also wanted four benches, so I started by making two full 9-foot benches—one for each side of the table—and then cut each one in half. This allows the natural grain to line back up when the benches are placed next to each other, giving the appearance of one continuous piece.

The entire set sits on our X-base trestles and is handcrafted from our 300+ year-old reclaimed American chestnut.

Another happy customer with a one-of-a-kind table ready for many years of family, friends, and great memories around it!

I’ve been busy in the shop making a batch of Shaker trestles for a couple of different projects. I always figure, if you’re making one, you might as well make a few!

This particular project will feature a 1.5” thick x 36” wide x 64” long American chestnut tabletop paired with a classic Shaker trestle base.

The customer also wanted a custom 60” bench designed to tuck perfectly underneath the table when it’s not in use. A great way to maximize space while keeping everything clean and functional.

Can’t wait to see this one come together!

Every board has a story.

A few months ago, a customer walked into the shop during a renovation of their home with a special request. Rather than throw away the original pine flooring, they wanted to preserve a piece of their home’s history and turn it into something their family could enjoy every day.

They brought me 3–4 of the old floorboards, and I transformed them into this one-of-a-kind coffee table measuring 21.5” wide, 37” long, and 17” tall.

These are the projects I love most. Taking wood that has already witnessed decades of family memories and giving it a new purpose is incredibly rewarding. Now, instead of ending up in a dumpster, those same boards will continue to be part of the home and the memories still to come.

We just delivered this beautiful 70” round American chestnut table, paired with our handcrafted C pedestal, also made from authentic American chestnut. The base was finished in a custom white paint, perfectly complementing our cream dining chairs. To complete the set, we added a 34” American chestnut Lazy Susan, bringing both beauty and functionality to the table.

This table will be the gathering place for family dinners, holiday celebrations, game nights, and countless everyday moments. The memories that will be created around this table are what it’s all about, and we are honored to have been a small part of creating a place where those moments can be shared.
