I love old silver, especially when it's gotten a little tarnished over the years. I know some people like to polish every piece until it shines, but I actually prefer a little of that darker patina. Plus, I have memories of polishing my grandma's silver... it was a JOB, and I'm still not sure it was worth the $20 I earned. Lol.

And I love bringing out things that are older or have been passed down. Some of those very pieces I polished as a kid now sit in my own home, and they're part of what makes it feel so personal. My grandma might not approve of the tarnish, but I think she'd be thrilled to know I use her silver in pretty much every season. And I love having that little piece of her around to enjoy every day. β™‘πŸŒΏ

I love old tables like this with a couple of drawers and plenty of worn paint.

I've found pieces like this when antiquing, and I can usually think of half a dozen places to put them before I even get them home.🌲

β˜€οΈ Good Morning~

πŸ“– β€œFor God is not unjust to forget your work and labor of love which you have shown toward His name, in that you have ministered to the saints, and do minister.” Hebrews 6:10 NKJV

I think about the people I've known who spent years quietly taking care of things that needed doing. Raising families, looking after elderly parents, helping at church, or simply being the person everybody could count on. Most of what they did never received much attention, and I doubt they expected it to.

I've always had a lot of respect for those people. They weren't looking for praise. They just got up every morning and did what needed to be done, often putting somebody else's needs ahead of their own.

I like knowing that God sees those things, even when nobody else does. Some of the most meaningful work in a person's life may never be noticed by the world, but that doesn't make it any less important.

Hope you all have a good Monday and a lovely start to your week. ✨️🌿

I love using old galvanized buckets, crocks, and baskets for plants instead of regular flowerpots. Half the fun is finding something around the house that wasn't originally meant for that purpose.

And an old wooden tables is one of my favorite pieces to decorate with. You can move it just about anywhere and change what's on it whenever you feel like it. I don't think I'll ever run out of uses for one. β™‘

I like mixing old wood with comfortable fabrics. A worn wooden table, a wicker basket, a favorite throw, and a chair that's actually comfortable to sit in. Nothing fancy.

And I'm perfectly happy with a few things that have seen better days. I think they make a home feel a little more lived in. β™‘πŸŒΏ

β˜€οΈ Good Morning~

πŸ“– β€œNow may He who supplies seed to the sower, and bread for food, supply and multiply the seed you have sown and increase the fruits of your righteousness,” 2 Corinthians 9:10 NKJV

Well, here we are in November already. I always think about how different the countryside looks this time of year. The fields have been harvested, the gardens are winding down, and the trees are losing the last of their leaves. Everything that was so busy growing a few months ago is settling in for winter.

I think about all the work that goes into a harvest, too. Somebody had to prepare the ground, plant those seeds, and tend to things long before there was anything to gather. And even after all that work, so much still depended on what God provided.

I like that this verse uses something as familiar as planting and harvesting to talk about the good we can do in our lives. We may not always see what comes of the things we do, but that doesn't mean nothing is growing.

Wishing all of you a beautiful Sunday and a lovely beginning to November. β™‘πŸŒΏ

I think a porch should be a place where you can sit down and stay awhile. Not just somewhere to put a few pretty things.

I love being able to sit outside when the weather cools off, especially when the trees are starting to change colors.

Find a porch to sit on and live a happier life. πŸ’›πŸ‚

You know I love old painted furniture, but I especially love finding a piece that still has most of its original finish.

The scratches, worn edges, and layers of paint are what make it interesting to me. I know everybody has different tastes, but pieces like this one seem to have so much more character to me. It adds depth and personality to the space.

And, well, it's green, so that makes it even better. πŸ’šπŸ‚

β˜€οΈ Good Morning~

πŸ“– β€œConsider the lilies, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; and yet I say to you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.” Luke 12:27 NKJV

I've always enjoyed watching things grow, especially flowers that come back year after year. Sometimes I'll forget exactly where I planted something, and then one spring morning I'll notice those first little green shoots coming up through the ground. Before long, there are flowers everywhere.

I've seen some beautiful gardens over the years, but I don't think anything we arrange ourselves can quite compare to what God has already made. Even the little wildflowers growing along the side of the road can be prettier than anything in a flower bed.

I like that Jesus pointed to something as ordinary as a flower when He was teaching. He knew people would understand what He meant because they'd seen those same little flowers growing all around them.

Hope you have a beautiful Saturday, friends.🌿

I love that time of day when the afternoon sun starts coming through the windows and everything takes on that pretty golden glow.

I've been known to stop what I'm doing just to enjoy it for a few minutes. Especially this time of year, when the sunlight seems a little softer and doesn't hang around nearly as long.

It's funny how some of the nicest parts of a day aren't anything you planned. Just a few quiet minutes, a little sunshine, and nothing particularly important going on. πŸ’›πŸ‚
