✨Who doesn’t love an old hope chest makeover?!

This hope chest is over 40 years old and was ready for a new life. My client wanted to give it a fresh look while turning it into a comfortable bench seat.

The finish was updated with Dixie Belle Paint Company in the color hurricane gray and protected with Minwax satin polycrylic. I added new hardware and topped it off with a custom upholstered cushion to transform this sentimental piece into something both beautiful and functional.

🤎Some pieces of furniture are more than just furniture. 🤎

These chairs date back to the 1930s and have been part of a family’s story for generations. They’ve held countless conversations, celebrations, holidays, and memories—and rather than letting them become forgotten or replaced, they were given a new life.

Before ➡️ After — same piece, completely different look!

I love taking pieces that have good bones and giving them a whole new life. Sometimes the perfect piece is already sitting in your home—you just have to see its potential. ✨

Said goodbye to the orange tone… simple as that! ✌️

Before ➡️ After ✨

My client wanted these stools updated to match her new kitchen.

The seats needed to be reupholstered in a faux leather that could be easily wiped clean—because kids. Say no more, I get it! 🙌

She also wanted the stool legs to coordinate with the other wood accents throughout the space. The legs were refinished using Dixie Belle Paint Company Voodoo Gel Stain in Wh***ey Barrel, creating the perfect warm wood tone to compliment the kitchen.

My client said, “I can’t just throw it away.”

I hear that all the time, especially when it comes to cedar chests and other sentimental pieces that have been passed down through generations.

So many families have beautiful furniture filled with memories… but they’re not quite sure what to do with it anymore. It doesn’t fit their style, it’s looking tired, or it just needs a little love — but tossing it? That’s not an option.

That’s where I come in.

I love seeing the hidden potential in pieces like this cedar chest and giving them a fresh new life while keeping the memories intact. A thoughtful makeover can completely transform a piece — and suddenly it becomes something you’re proud to display and use every day.

Don’t throw it away.
Keep the memories , refresh the look. 🖤
