The scale is deceptive in this picture.
It’s a full size cross, frozen in the moment after the crucifixion.
It lives in a private chapel, a meditation space.
This project and its commissioner have opened a portal to spiritual contemplation.
When he first approached us to make the cross, he said, “Feel free to look at my portfolio of work.” We did. He’s been in architectural digest more times than we can count, phenomenal body of work, pure beauty; furniture and spaces… based in New York, known worldwide.
The ego yelled “heck yeah, this is a big deal client”
The work yelled “what does it mean he died for our sins?”
At a time when the dark forces of the world seem unhinged, we have been gifted the opportunity to make this cross and in doing so are reminded of the spiritual realm and radness of being humans who get to do GOOD work.
