Painting a dresser? BIN.

Worried about stains? BIN.

Not sure what primer to buy? Believe it or not, BIN. 🤪

And listen, BIN works. But can we please stop acting like it’s the only primer on the planet?

It’s $84 a gallon. It stinks. It’s runny. And if you’re spraying it, cleanup is a whole different situation from water-based products.

Sealers are one of those categories where everything looks interchangeable until you’re standing in the aisle trying to decide — and picking the wrong one can leave you with a finish that looks cloudy, plasticky, too warm, too shiny, or nothing like what you were going for.

The real decision is about how much you want to change the way the wood looks. Some sealers sit on top and add a visible layer of protection. Some soak in and disappear. Some warm the grain, some keep it cool and natural, and some dry so flat you’d barely know anything was there.

The best one depends entirely on the look you’re going for and how much you want the wood itself to show through.
