I LOVE it! The color, the design and uniqueness of it 🖤
At first, I wasn't sure about the color but as soon as I started painted it, it felt like that color fit perfectly for this piece ❤️
It's a color called Apothecary which is a deep mahogany or burgundy color. Around the edges I added some black wax to deepen the color to make it pop ✨️ Unfortunately, it's hard to capture it on phone cameras 🫠 I added some molds that I painted gold and "antiqued" them with some more black wax. This piece is two toned. I used a black paintwash on the bottom two drawers and top to give this piece some character. I wanted to steer the design into a Gothic glam so I left the patina on the mirror. I started to disassemble it and re-silver it until I realized the back of the mirror was going to be to fragile to assemble back. I like it better anyway with the gothic look Inwas going for. Lastly I antiqued the gold hardware and added some drawer liners.
