Little bit of a long post alert. ππ
Now that we're settled back at home and I've taken my medicine, I thought I'd update about my 2 week post op visit. ππ
I've been having really bad pain in my right bicep. It's about 3 inches wide, by 7-9" long. It feels like I have a 20-30lb weight at the top of my arm/shoulder, going down my bicep.
Every. Little. Movement. Makes. It. Hurt.
If we're driving and we hit a bump, it hurts. If someone bumps into me, it hurts. If I lift my arm, it hurts. If I turn over in the middle of the night, it hurts. I grimace when someone gets too close to me or when I see a bump in the road ahead. I tense up and I prepare for it to hurt. I've always had a really high pain tolerance. Idk if it's no longer high or if this pain is just unbearable, but gosh dang! π
I didn't get to see the surgeon, but I talked to the surgeon's assistant today. Originally, my surgery was scheduled as "Rt BT, SAD DCE, Lysis of Adhesions". Tell me why, the "BT", which is biceps tenodesis wasn't done and yet my biceps are what's hurting the absolute most. π€¦ββοΈπ They gave me the "Operative Note", which, from what I can gather, is a transcribed version of the surgery. It's hard to read.
I said all of this to say, my arm/shoulder hurts worse than it ever did before and he has no idea why. π€¦ββοΈπ€¬Now I have to get another MRI and possibly schedule another surgery.
If it's not one thing, it's another. I keep hearing "Be still. Let God." and I'm trying to. This pain is something else though. So pretty please keep me in your prayers because apparently what they originally thought it was, wasn't and now I'm in pain with no reasoning and no timeline on when it'll be remediated. π’π€π
