A unique commission. These clients had spent years trying to figure out how they could add a fireplace to this room, but owning a 1900’s era apartment in midtown Manhattan limited their options.

That’s where The Bio Flame came to the rescue.

The clients loved it and I loved being able to provide a solution for them.

A perfect example of how every detail matters. These clients visited my shop to lay out the exact cuts for their custom walnut island top, intentionally preserving a ribbon of sapwood through the center.

Being part of the design process changes how you experience your home. Seeing your own choices reflected throughout the space makes it truly your own.

POV: The desk you want doesn’t exist, so you have it built.

Book-matched walnut, blackened steel, and a design driven by the client from the very beginning.

One of my favorite builds for this home.

The request was for a mantel that felt at home with the natural character of the space, while being refined enough to showcase the client’s collection of antique vases gathered from around the world.

As always, we loved collaborating with Missi & Co Interior Design House to bring this design to life.

The clients requested a railing inspired by nature, “but modern.”

Each piece was shaped by hand to create a pattern that feels organic, yet intentional.

If you lived in central Pennsylvania in the ’70s, you may have walked into a small woodworking shop and commissioned a dining room table from an Amish craftsman named Eli Troyer — my grandpa.

Size, design, wood species, and finish would’ve been discussed at a workbench, among the sawdust and tools of current projects. You would’ve left smelling faintly of sawdust, pipe to***co, and maybe coffee.

I’m slightly un-Amish, and more of the design process now happens over email than at a workbench — but I’m still focused on creating commissioned, handcrafted furniture for those who appreciate such things.
