Happy Friday from the shop.

A few shots from the last few days. A curved frame coming together. Batting getting cut to size. Edges being worked by hand.

Lots of different hands on lots of different pieces. That's a normal week here.

Have a good weekend.

It's all in the details.

A banquette coming together in the shop. Close-up work on a piece that's on its way to a real space.

Vibrant feels. Fortner built.

Custom lounge seating for Prototype: Experimental Museum in Columbus. Bold magenta fabric, oversized rounded forms, and a built-in platform base that runs the length of the room. The seating was built to match the energy of the space and hold up through the kind of traffic a venue like this sees every night.

Seating should feel as good as it looks and be built to handle years of real use.

The finished space at Hilton Columbus Downtown.

Multiple custom banquettes, built in Columbus for a busy hotel restaurant. Deep tufting along the planter wall. Vertical channel seating across the room. Different styles, one space.

Hotel dining sees constant use from early breakfast to late dinner. That's the kind of traffic we build for.

Every piece starts with a team, not a machine.

Frames get built by hand. Wood gets finished by hand. Leather gets pulled and stretched by hand. Every step in this shop involves someone paying close attention to the work in front of them.

That's what craftsmanship looks like in Columbus.

The work does not stop. Neither does the standard.

Every piece that leaves our shop goes through the same hands, the same process, and the same level of care it always has. From the wood shop to the sewing room to the upholstery floor, the people in this shop take what they build seriously.

That is what nearly a century of craft looks like in practice.
