By Wait List Only Emza Uphill is a 3rd generation weaver with 25+ years experience. As a teenager she started helping her father Bill, of Bill's Caning & Rushing, with his work load; first learning how to hand cane, then sheet cane, Danish Cord, Shaker Tape, and splint weave chairs, canoe panels, and other functional items. Spring has sprung and this chair is done! New hand cane seat for a historic downtown Columbus church. Back to Coup Restorations to stain the seat to match and finish the restoration.

A very long project headed back home in time for Christmas 🎄Six and a half feet, 214 hand cane holes, and countless hours. I believe it was once French/blind caned and someone drilled wildly through each hole to the inside of the seat. Did some rounding off of sharp edges and stabilization repairs before hand caning strand by strand. Glad for my caning needle and many movies 😁 On to my next project!
