Part 2 of Controversial Design Decisions is here… and this time we’re talking kitchens. 👀
These are three features homeowners seem to either absolutely love… or completely skip.
✨ Panel-ready appliances – They create a seamless, custom look by blending refrigerators, dishwashers, and other appliances into the cabinetry. Some people love the clean aesthetic. Others think the added cost isn’t worth it (and admit they can never find the fridge!).
☕ Prep kitchens – Perfect for hiding countertop appliances, meal prep, and entertaining messes. Some homeowners see them as a dream feature, while others would rather put that square footage toward a larger main kitchen or pantry.
🌊 Fluted cabinets – The added texture can make a kitchen feel warm, custom, and high-end. On the flip side, some people feel they’re becoming overused and worry they’ll date the space over time.
The best kitchen isn’t the one that’s trending, it’s the one that works for the way you live.
Now it’s your turn…
👇 Which one are you adding to your dream kitchen, and which one would you skip?

Not every room has to be light and bright. ✨
My client wanted one thing: high-end boutique hotel vibes. Think cozy, dramatic, sophisticated, and just a little moody.
We brought that vision to life with Sherwin-Williams Peppercorn (SW 7674)—a rich charcoal that creates depth without feeling harsh. Paired with warm lighting, layered textures, and the right finishes, the space feels luxurious, intimate, and timeless.
Dark paint isn’t about making a room feel smaller… it’s about making it feel intentional.
Loved collaborating with Paint EZ of Far North Dallas owner Shalada on this for her client!
We love when our clients take the time to leave us a review! We are so grateful for all the wonderful people we get to work with!
Shout out to our friend Rachel Manglaris of hearth.n.bloom ! She will be showcasing and selling her beautiful handmade goods at Grapevine’s Artisans Market this Saturday from 9:00-2:00. Each of her pieces are thoughtfully and carefully crafted. From pairing the perfect fabrics right down to thread and zipper colors. We love supporting fellow small business owners!!
My personal favorites are her keychains (I use mine everyday!), zipper wallets (again-everyday use!), and her totes (the totes are not only beautiful but can carry A LOT of weight-I’ve used mine to tote around tile samples and books!). If you’re in or around Grapevine this Saturday, go check out her booth! If you can’t make it to the market, she also has an online shop!

Controversial Design Decisions
Part 1
Here are three renovation choices that seem to split homeowners right down the middle:
🚿 Removing the bathtub : Some people think every primary bathroom needs one. Others would rather have a larger shower they’ll actually use every day.
🚽 Installing a smart toilet: To some, it’s an unnecessary splurge. To others, it’s the one upgrade they’d never give up after trying it.
🪨 Using large-format tile (24”x48” or 36”x36”) in a small bathroom: Many people assume smaller bathrooms need smaller tile, but large-format tile can actually make a space feel more open with fewer grout lines and a cleaner, more seamless look.
There isn’t a “right” answer. The best bathroom is the one that fits your lifestyle, not someone else’s opinion.
Now let’s settle the debate…
👇 Which of these would you absolutely include in your dream primary bathroom? And which one is a hard pass?
Exterior update!! What a transformation😍
Meet Liveable Green (SW 6176) one of Sherwin-Williams’ prettiest “barely-there” greens. It has just enough gray to keep it sophisticated and just enough yellow to add a touch of warmth.
But here’s the catch…
Because it’s so light, lighting can completely change how it looks. In bright sunlight, it can feel a little washed out or even slightly limey. In softer light, it transforms into the dreamiest muted green with a calm, organic vibe.
I especially love it for:
🤍 Nurseries
🤍 Bedrooms
🤍 Front doors
🤍 Shutters on a white brick or white siding home
It’s one of those colors that whispers instead of shouts and sometimes that’s exactly what a space needs.
Would you use it inside your home or on the exterior? Let me know below!
A wallpaper accent wall was the perfect way to elevate this dining room!
From rendering… to reality.
One of my favorite parts of a new construction project is watching the architectural rendering come to life. It’s incredibly rewarding to see the finished home look so close to the original vision and that’s exactly what happened here.
Sherwin-Williams colors Accessible Beige and Urbane Bronze were selected to complement this East Dallas home’s architecture and materials, helping bring the rendering to life in the real world.
Huge thanks to Conrad Homes for letting me be part of this beautiful project!
And we’re just getting started… I’ve also been working on the interior design, and I can’t wait to show you what’s coming next. Stay tuned!
Got to check out Stratus Surfaces with Allyssa Allyssa Kimbrell to finalize countertop selections! So many beautiful options!! 🤩 😍
