If it's a womans perogative to change her mind?? Then when that women is a a designer, she gets an extra pass to change it? Correct?

It's going to be warm here this weekend..so the rest of the Christmas will be going up and yes, this dining room was going to pull double duty, but Now....well.... it's going to be thanksgiving only because my little brain just exploded with a

An orange Christmas tree?

Talk about wowza! 🀩🀩 This tree is pulling some double duty decor. Decked from "tip to toe" in all fall decor. And Presenting itself, so gracefully in front of all these colorful books. If you all know anything about me...it is my love of color...and this my friends stopped me in my tracks...we all need those scroll stopping moments.....

A Few weeks ago, I had the honor of shooting bridal portraits for my future.daughter in law....
Their wedding was last weekend, so now I can share her photo.

All the shots came out perfect.πŸ€“ Although not home design/decor, photography is part of my creative process. Meet the newest Mrs. Peterson. Here philosophy on fashion is aligned with mine.
Dress: (because you only wear it once)
Shoes: (because you'll covet them forever) πŸ’ƒ
FLOWERS: (because gorgeous bouquets are made not manufactured)
I grabbed a fresh cut bunch, near the check out stand, on the way to meet her. and BONUS see those.gorgeous Lacey bright green beauties in the bouquet.
Those are samaras, or as we called them as kids helicopters, from a maple tree branch, I snapped off a limb in costco's parking lot.πŸ˜‚πŸ€£πŸ˜‚ My poor hubby...we were walking out of costco together, he zigs to the left to get in the car, and thinking I'm jumping in the passenger seat, starts the engine
, looks around I'm not in the car....Well I had "zagged" right to the gorgeous tree with all these beautiful Lacey beauties . ( think shiny object moment) My creative Brain is always on , the struggle is real. lol

A fence that draws you in? Doesn't a fence keep things out?

Wouldn't the world be a happier more creative space with whimsical "barriers" . .
We need to replace a driveway gate. Something easy for my parents to maneuver. ( as they live on our property) But, fences are so boooorrrrring. I mean its metal/ wood its tall..blah.. I'll have to file for a permit in the town we live in....pay the filing fee and render drawings of the "proposed " gate THIS would be worth paying the money just to watch the Planning & Zoning boards heads spin around πŸ€£πŸ˜‚πŸ€£πŸ˜‚. Thinking " normal" is hard for me folks.....

This fun photo I took... One of my favorite places to visit is a sweet little town just about an hour North of Austin called Salado. This was the fence for a ,long gone , whimsical little shop called Sir wigglesworth. The buildings gone, but the fence remains. It amazes me to watch people still stop and take photos of this fence. A barrier.....NOT to keep things out, BUT to draw them in. .

What's your favorite part of traveling?.

Even on a short mini get away.? I think my favorite part is just the anticipation. Seriously, it's so silly, that I get that "I'm too excited to sleep" feeling ..... (You just.visualized the commercial with the little boy in his PJ's whining "I'm too excited to sleep, I'm going to Disney world" DIDNT YOU πŸ€£πŸ˜‚) Yes, I just showed my age... But, that's exactly it. The excitement of playing tourist, no daily routine. Discovering new things, new art, and definately a fresh perspective.

The weekend is upon us, even if you can't travel to an exotic destination, transport yourself in your mind. Play tourist in your own town, go find something new to you, an exhibit, or new.restaurant.. If the weather's terrible grab a classic book you havent read and travel back in time. Or, I always love creating and cooking a colorful new dish. Whatever your plans for the weekend. grab a moment of child like anticipation. Who knows what inspiration will come from a "little trip"
.

We see no more than we expect to see.

Have you ever wondered how people create? How did their perception change the same object you've looked at 100 times in a different way?

A fun and often quoted story about Pablo Picasso is about the time he was hanging around an exhibition of his paintings in Paris. He was approached by a man who asked Picasso why he didn’t paint people the way they look. β€œWell, how do they look?” asked Picasso. The man took a photograph of his wife from his wallet and handed it over. Picasso looked at the picture; then handing it back, said, β€œShe is awfully small isn’t she. And flat too.” We have to accept the fact that much of what seems real to us is governed by our own perceptions.

So on this "Magical Monday " look past the "norm" , past the clutter of what is expected. I dare you to change your perspective, who knows what will come from a different view. 😘😘

What's your plan for this "Wild Wednesday" ?

I'm in Austin on business for a couple of days, so "when in rome" I think I'll help contribute to the " keep austin weird" vibe. Well see what shenanigans I get into, but 6th street will definately be how I finish the day.
