June is a very important month to me.
Its Pride month! 🌈

But it’s also the month my divorce was finalized years ago.

It’s the month I gave birth alone, only the biological father in the room with me.
I remember the Beatles yellow submarine playing, I remember the nurses calling me brave and when one doctor accidentally walked into my room - WHOOPS 😬- and I remember eating a lot of Italian ice because it was the only thing I could eat.
I remember the epidural wearing off right before I was supposed to push and I remember hearing somebody scream from the room next door and realizing that that was actually me.

& while I feel silly sometimes, buying pajamas thinking “this will be great post partum in the future” or deep diving strollers deciding between or

I’m proud of myself regardless of all of my failures and accomplishments; because I kept going, I kept faith in a future that I had started dreaming for myself the moment I saw that positive pregnancy test.

May isn’t even over and I’m proud to say I’ve left my house and explored more things than I could have expected! 🥹💞

First) in Lowry, their truffle fries were AMAZING and the cider options were impressive along with their other NA options. I think parents would love this location as it’s literally right next to a playground and they have a kids menu!

Second) .denver thankful for inviting me along to their launch! Met so many friends and was shocked that they had NA Champagne that was DELICIOUS along with a mocktail menu, the bartenders were very intentional about even making the mocktails & while it’s not kid/dog friendly, the view of the mountains MORE than makes up for it. The rooftop is covered too so it’s the perfect shade escape for summer nights. Gonna love this for a nice night out.

Third) this place gets BUSY and yet you can ALWAYS find a place to sit and expect your good to come out timely. It’s located right next to Little Man ice cream and is also located near a park that you could walk to. It also has several shaded outdoor areas and his dog friendly& kid friendly.

😵‍💫While also unlearning the habit of grabbing whatever’s cute/brand name or just a certain fabric (guilty of buying just for the brand & cotton just bc it’s cotton😩) just because it was there.

Embracing my adult body, my adult responsibilities & adult dreams means every piece has to earn its place.
