Bold choice, done right.

This staircase got a patterned runner this week, installed by William. The pattern has to run centered and land the same on every tread, top to bottom. With the runner in, the crew set the spindle shoes and touched up paint before calling it done.

The last line of almost every crew update this week:
"Swept and cleaned up." "Restacked lumber." "Taking two bags of trash to warehouse."

Jordan and Jerrad framed soffits, headers and walls all week and still closed every day with a broom. Hunter left a bathroom spotless while it waits on its last pieces. Jason ran trash and materials between jobs so crews could keep working.

Nobody claps for the cleanup. We notice anyway. Have a great and safe weekend, Team Iconic. 🧹

Day 1: starter rows. Day 2: the long wall and the bench front. Day 3: bench sides, niche and window. Tile complete. ✅

Jeff tiled this shower one wall at a time, working around a built-in bench, a recessed niche and a window. The week started with a passed drywall inspection and ended with the bathroom 100% done.

Tag someone who's been talking about redoing their shower. 🚿

Tile gets all the attention. The waterproofing underneath is what keeps a shower working for the long haul.

In one primary bath this week, Todd set a Kerdi pan and drain, then sealed every corner and seam with banding before a single tile went down. The curb got three coats of RedGard. Down the hall, Jacob waterproofed and tiled the back wall of the hall bath.

Homeowner tip: when you get shower quotes, ask what's behind the tile. A good contractor will be glad you asked.

Arched nooks finished in Roman clay and lit from inside. Stained beams finished in poly. A bookshelf that's actually a door.

John and Ricky spent this week turning this entertaining space into a place to host: w**e and bourbon storage, a fireplace nook, and a hidden Murphy door stained and trimmed on both sides.

Monday on the Iconic schedule: more than a dozen homes around St. Louis. Framing in one, tile in two, cabinets, countertops, paint, demo, and a couple of brand-new job starts. Twenty-plus people, every one with a name next to a job.

Steve's note to the crew last week: protect the floors, put up the zip walls, cover the tubs, haul the trash. "These things make a difference. It sets us apart."

Every Iconic project starts the same way.

The sign goes in the yard. Dust walls go up to protect the rest of the house. Layout lines go on the floor. Then the framing starts.

Jordan, Jerrad and Chris kicked off this basement finish with demo and layout. Now the walls are standing: bedrooms, closets, a bookshelf cubby, with soffits on the way. Every day ends with a sweep and the trash hauled out.

William and John installed new flooring through the great room, dining room, foyer and upstairs. They ran baseboard, touched up paint everywhere and installed new spindles on the staircase. The floor runs right up the curved balcony and fits clean around every column and wainscot panel.
