Chocolate rosewood and walnut radiate out from center in a sunburst that lands on a stepped, octagonal pedestal below — the Lummus makes the case for pairing dark woods rather than choosing one. Whether it's the perfect combination is up for debate. That the two together look richer than either alone is not.

The Ramsey usually shows up as a monumental dining table. This is the smallest version we've built — 60 by 24 inches, finished here in a dark walnut. Same architecture just scaled down to work as a console, an entry table, or a table for two. Not every Ramsey needs to seat twelve.

We're seeing a lot more requests for game tables lately, and we suspect it's the surge in mahjong's popularity driving it. This one works for whatever you want to play, just with a more elevated look than your average game table.

Carolyn, shown in a brushed aqua finish with a mitered X across the top and brass banding — rivets and all — wrapping the full perimeter.

This Carlough wasn't built to look new, and it wasn't built to look reclaimed either — it was built to match one specific antique, worm holes and all. Every mark on this top was placed on purpose: the saw-textured surface, the small inset patches mimicking where an old repair might have gone, wear that usually takes a hundred years. Getting there took considerably longer than building it flawless ever would have.

The Ritz collection gets a new piece. This dresser pairs a case in lavish Ash with door and drawer fronts in quarter-matched Mappa burl. Brass ring pulls on the outer doors, simple brass k***s down the drawers, nothing competing with the wood for attention.

The Cambridge's top is a pie match cut from walnut crotch veneer — matched wedges radiating out from center, each one mirroring the one beside it. A thick, unbroken border frames the whole pattern. We firmly believe all of our art should be framed.

Taped up and ready for the vacuum press — walnut veneer leaves, cut and bookmatched into a radial sunburst. Every seam has to line up exactly before the press can do its job. There's no shortcut for this part. Two people, a lot of tape, and the kind of patience that never shows up in the finished piece — but is where those beautiful top patterns are born.

This Raleigh chest isn't trying to tame this wild burl — it puts it front and center. Ash burl veneer, unpredictable and chaotic in its figure, sits inside a case of tavern-finished ash with brass ball pulls simple enough to let the wood do the talking.

The Allen's legs make this table extraordinary. Each one curves in a long, sweeping taper before opening into a negative-space cutout near the base — more sculpture than support. Finished here in a medium walnut that lets the grain run the full length of the top uninterrupted.
