A table is where people gather. A well-made board is part of the everyday moments in between.

Swipe through a few TBDesign tables and wood boards we’ve created. We love working with the grain and character of the wood, then talking through the size and details that fit your space and the way you live.

If you could have one piece made for your home, would you choose a dining table or a butcher block? Tell us in the comments what you have in mind.

For a custom order, send us a message with your idea, approximate dimensions, and delivery ZIP. You can also explore our custom work through the website link on our profile.

This Charak Furniture chest has the kind of detail that makes us pause: warm mahogany, graceful legs, four individually functioning drawer locks, and two original keys. The Charak maker’s mark is still visible inside.

We refreshed the original finish while keeping the character that comes with a vintage piece. It measures approximately 38″ wide × 18″ deep × 35″ tall.

$595. Buyer assisted or white glove delivery is available for a fee. Would you use this in a bedroom or give it a place in an entryway?

This Charak Furniture chest has the kind of detail that makes us pause: warm mahogany, graceful legs, four individually functioning drawer locks, and two original skeleton keys. The Charak maker’s mark is still visible inside.

We refreshed the original finish while keeping the character that comes with a vintage piece. It measures approximately 38″ wide × 18″ deep × 35″ tall.

Since this piece is restored, it may have minor imperfections that align with its vintage aesthetic.

$595. Buyer-assisted or white glove delivery is available to your home or business for a fee as we service multiple regions.

Continuing with the Bohemian style, this Ashley Porter bedroom set has been revitalized from its former dark brown finish. The dresser and two matching nightstands are painted and sealed in Sherwin-Williams Accessible Beige, with Satin Black pulls. Swipe to photos 3 and 4 to see where we started, then take a closer look at the finished edges and drawer detail.

The set includes hidden pullout drawers in the dresser and nightstands for additional storage. The dresser measures approximately 68” wide, 35” tall, and 19” deep. Each nightstand measures 28.75” wide, 18” deep, and 29.75” tall. The three-piece set is $1,295.

Since these pieces are restored, they may have minor imperfections that align with their vintage character. Buyer-assisted or white glove delivery to your home or business is available for a fee. Nashville-area delivery is available by arrangement.

If this set were going into your bedroom, what colors would you pair with Accessible Beige—sage and cream, terracotta and warm neutrals, navy and white, or something completely different? Tell me your combination in the comments. I’d love to see how you would make it your own. If you know someone planning a bedroom refresh, share this with them.

Find the Ashley Porter bedroom set through Shop Now on our Page for purchasing details.

On one of our latest restoration rescues, I decided to take the road less traveled. Why did the road lead me to sit in the middle of a body of water with limited swimming skills on a ferry?

I hope you all know how much love I have for you to do this!

Beautiful furniture deserves more than a beautiful finish.

This American of Martinsville mid-century modern credenza came to TBDesign with evidence of previous repairs, including the use of deck screws. Our restoration work focused on addressing those issues and preserving the craftsmanship that makes vintage furniture worth saving.

And yes, this beautiful piece is still available!

A maker’s mark inside a drawer can open a whole chapter of furniture history. These two pieces in our TBDesign workshop carry the names Charak and Lexington.

Charak of Boston celebrated Georgian and Colonial furniture forms in its catalogs. Lexington traces its furniture-making story back more than a century, with designs spanning classic to contemporary styles. Each name represents a different thread in American furniture history.

Look closer at the pieces: shaped fronts, decorative woodwork, brass hardware, and the marks tucked inside the drawers. Those details reveal choices made by the people who designed and built them. The signs of use remind us that these pieces have lived in homes before ours.

At TBDesign, we study those details as we restore and reimagine furniture for its next chapter. Which detail catches your eye first?

Many years ago, we were commissioned to build a custom swing seat for a wonderful young man. Made from locally sourced lumber, the seat was carefully rounded and sanded for comfort.

The joy captured in this video warms my heart every time I watch it. Sometimes, the things we consider the simplest bring us the greatest joy.

THE STORIES BEHIND THE STAMPS.

At TBDesign, we believe every piece of furniture has a story worth preserving.

Sometimes, that story is found in the smallest details. A faded manufacturer’s stamp, a handwritten number, or a paper label tucked away on the back of a drawer or beneath a dresser.

These markings are more than remnants of the past. They offer clues about a piece’s origins, craftsmanship, and journey through time. They remind us that long before a piece arrives in our workshop, it has already lived a life.

That’s part of what makes restoring vintage furniture so meaningful to us. We’re not simply refinishing wood or updating hardware. We’re honoring the craftsmanship of yesterday while reimagining its place in today’s homes.

Because restoration isn’t about erasing history. It’s about giving history a future.
