Sheet metal is my jam! Fit, form, and function are the priority, not pretty welds (I still enjoy a pretty weld). This is a cosmetic stainless part with +/- .015" tolerance across 14 welded details (screws, bosses, standoffs) and the overall dimensions. Welding is easy, keeping it from warping and within tolerance is the real challenge. FAI gang.

This was a fun. Perfect machined parts with no consideration for weld assembly fit-up. Simple solutions save sanity!

Question: Is anyone else welding sanitary stainless parts without backing gas? .06" material thickness. I'm shocked at how good these turned out.

Little mirror repair I did a few years back. I jump on every opportunity to challenge myself, or to learn a new skill. This 10-32 PEM nut repair was a fun challenge, I was able to fuse weld both sides after it was knocked out during fabrication. Stay hungry my friends!
