We’ve secured a few more litter maintenance contracts that we haven’t shared, but this one felt a little more special after learning about the history and mission behind the organization.

We’re proud to now provide weekly litter maintenance services for The Centers’ H.O.P.E. Campus in Cleveland!

Formerly known as Cleveland Christian Home, this organization has a history dating back over 125 years, beginning as a home for orphaned and abandoned children. Today, the campus continues that legacy by providing residential care, mental health services, and support for youth facing difficult circumstances. Their partners include cuyahoga county division of children and family services, county juvenile court, and many more!

As a youth-based business founded by teen brothers, this contract holds special meaning. We understand the importance of investing in young people and creating safe, clean, and welcoming spaces where they can grow and thrive.

We’re honored to play even a small role in supporting such a meaningful mission by helping keep their grounds clean and beautiful.

For us, it’s always been about more than picking up trash. It’s about purpose, community, and making a difference!

Thank you to The Centers HOPE campus for trusting The Trash Boys! 💚

WELP! They are becoming men too fast! What did I create?! 😭 One thing about being a single mother raising boys is that you have to prepare yourself to eventually let them go, even if that means you end up alone.

I was never the kind of mother who let my boys do whatever they wanted. Couldn’t run the streets, couldn’t stay out late, couldn’t hang with just anybody. I am strict, involved, and definitely not the kind of mother who believed children needed complete privacy while living under my roof. Lol. Sorry not sorry! I stayed on top of mine! Some might call it overbearing, but I knew the responsibility I had raising boys into men. It kept them out of trouble!

I spent years teaching them responsibility, independence, respect, and how to make good decisions. And I think I did a pretty good job. Maybe too good because now I’m down to just Drevian at home. He is already planning to leave me. Hahaa. Andre and his 20yr old brother are now roommates. Big brother has held a job since he was 16 yrs old, now a manager at a restaurant, has his own vehicle never been in trouble, not even one call from school. EVER. I did something right.

But nobody prepares you for the emotions that come with watching your boys become men and spread their wings. Even if it’s earlier than you imagined. You spend so much of your life protecting them, guiding them, correcting them, and preparing them for the world. Then one day, you realize you’ve raised them to no longer need you in the same ways they once did.

As a mother raising sons, I also understand there are parts of becoming a man that I simply cannot relate to. At some point, I have to trust that everything I’ve poured into them will guide them when I’m not around. It’s a bitter sweet moment but I’m also very proud and always here for them if they ever need to come home.

I’m proud. I’m happy. I’m sad. And I’m learning how to let go without feeling like I’m losing a part of myself.

I raised them to become men, not to remain my little boys forever. And now I have to give them the freedom to become those men.

I guess this is the bittersweet part of motherhood nobody really prepares you for.

Recently, two supporters gifted us with gift cards. One a teacher at Trinity high school and another a resident in Garfield Heights. We used the cards for extra supplies and Knick knacks! The extra bags and pickers go a long way when doing free community clean ups! Thank you both! We love our supporters! ❤️❤️❤️

YOU GUYSSSS! Awww look how people show up for the boys in Garfield. I won’t say who sent this without their permission but the boys really are loved. Jennifer Burke told me that nobody misses us since we left. But that couldn’t be further from the truth. We were just hanging out at a bbq with one of our supporters earlier today who couldn’t stop hugging us. 🥰 We are loved in Garfield despite what we went through. We still service Garfield and visit some of our old trash clients. We have no reason to make up any stories about anything. The way my boys were treated truly broke my heart. I had no choice but to start standing up and speaking up for them. They do so much good for many communities. Although, they are doing great now. It’s really the thought that counts. They still deserve it all! The community stuff they do is outside of their LLC. When they started they weren’t getting paid at all. They spent countless hours cleaning up the city for free. By choice because they wanted to. And taking in trash clients that the city sent to us without any financial support. We tried to help every senior referred to us by the city. But with no support it became impossible. We did our best to help as much as we could. Jennifer was sending people to us for services we never offered like house cleaning. These people had no money to pay us. We did it out of the kindness of our hearts. Of course we didn’t have to but we had to do something about the trash and we couldn’t turn our back on seniors who didn’t have anyone to help them. They love my boys to this day. This is sooooo sweet! We love yall so much. 😭❤️❤️❤️❤️
