Besche Furniture Thanks for visiting! We're a family-owned furniture & bedding store in Georgetown, DE, offering quality home furnishings, trusted brands, and friendly service.

Come see what we're all about! In 1877, Joseph Besche (pronounced BESH-EE), a German immigrant, started a home furnishings business in Baltimore, Maryland. The store was called "Joseph Besche & Sons". Four of Joseph's children, the second generation, worked together in the family business and eventually changed the name to "Four Besche Bros.". By the time it closed its doors in 1977, it had become one of Maryland's oldest family owned and operated furniture stores. Anthony Besche, one of the original four brothers, had a son by the name of Richard, who grew up in the family business but was determined to raise his family away from the big city. "Dick" Besche moved to the Eastern Shore in 1965 and went back into the furniture business. His children, now the fourth generation, worked together in the family business and renamed the store Besche Brothers Furniture. And now, with many years of tradition behind us, "Besche Furniture" wants an opportunity to satisfactorily serve you in the twenty-first century.

for the small space.. don't automatically go with the tiny furniture! a few well-proportioned pieces can actually look cleaner than lots of tiny ones. :)

(the secret is to repeat a tone somewhere else in the room so it looks intentional) :)

No wrong answers — it’s about choosing the look you want your room to communicate! A softer, looser cushion creates a relaxed, lived-in look. A tighter, more structured cushion feels tailored and polished.

Hey :) Living with pain isn’t easy. Neither is recovering from an illness or injury.

Sometimes, something as simple as a chair that helps you sit down and stand back up can make a bigger difference than you’d think.

Let's work towards just a little less strain, & a little more independence. ❤️

Do lift chairs actually help you stand up? Yes! A power lift recliner is designed to help make sitting down and standing up easier.

With the push of a button, the chair gently lifts and tilts forward, helping bring you to a standing position. No more struggling to get out of your (new) favorite chair!

Why do we have so many lift chairs in the showroom?
Different sizes, features, and comfort zones mean there’s a lot to choose from, and having plenty to test drive means everyone finds their perfect fit!
